Basic Travel Requirements for Gambians visiting Lebanon

Travelers are required to fulfill the following requirements in order to apply for a Lebanese Visa.

  • A Gambian passport valid for at least 6 months from the intended arrival date and must have 2 blank pages for visa stamp.
  • Duly completed and signed visa application form.
  • If the applicant is a minor, the parents/legal guardians have to sign the form.
  • Passport-size photographs (4.3 cm x 3.5 cm), taken against a white background.

Lebanon Tourist Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • The Lebanon tourist visa is for Gambians looking to travel to Lebanon for tourism purposes.
  • There are two types of Lebanon tourist visa:
    • Single-entry visa - valid for three months.
    • Double-entry visa - valid for six months.
  • You must provide a copy of your round trip airline confirmation indicating the dates of entry and exit from the country you intend to visit.
  • Confirmation of hotel accommodation or local address is required.
  • If staying with friends or family, you must provide their local address and telephone number.
  • Children under age 18 must submit a letter of consent from both parents and a copy of the birth certificate.
  • Letter of invitation from the host in Lebanon indicating details of applicant’s travel plans, the purpose of visit, dates of arrival and departure from Lebanon. 
  • Individuals who are detained pending deportation are expected to pay the cost of their own airline ticket and will remain under detention until they have gathered the necessary funds.
  • Travelers should avoid the Lebanese-Syrian border region. There have been incidents of cross-border shelling and air strikes of Lebanese villages from Syria, resulting in deaths and injuries.
  • There have been episodic clashes between the Lebanese Armed Forces and Syrian-based extremists along the border with Syria. There have also been reports of armed groups from Syria kidnapping or attacking Lebanese citizens living in border areas.
  • Gambians who marry Lebanese nationals in Lebanon should note that the performance of a civil marriage ceremony is not available in Lebanon.
  • Generally speaking, all personal status matters in Lebanon such as marriage, divorce and child custody fall under the jurisdiction of religious clerics and religious courts.

Lebanon Business Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • Gambians with the intention of traveling to Lebanon for business purposes can apply for the Lebanon business visa.
  • The applicant is required to provide a flight ticket for their return home.
  • Applicants are required to provide photocopies of important documents while keeping the originals close.
  • A copy of the applicant’s flight ticket is a mandatory Lebanon visa requirement.
  • Letter of invitation from inviting company in Lebanon stating the purpose and duration of stay is needed.
  • The letter should also indicate who will be responsible for the applicant's financial expenses. 
  • The letter must include contact information such as company address and phone number of the company in Lebanon.
  • The letter must be approved by the Ministry of Labor and Employment.
  • A business letter from the applicant’s Gambia-based country stating they are aware of the applicant’s leave is required.
  • This letter should also indicate the contact information of the company in Gambia.
  • Copy of confirmed itinerary showing date of arrival and departure is required.
