  • The Nauru tourist visa is available for Gambians looking to travel to Nauru for tourist purposes.
  • Currency restriction for exit out of Nauru is  AUD $2,500. A permit is required for amounts exceeding AUD $2,500.
  • Nauru has a low crime rate. However, visitors should not be complacent regarding their personal safety or the protection of valuables.
  • Nauru's customs authorities may enforce strict regulations concerning temporary importation into or export from Nauru of items such as foodstuff, animals, and pornographic materials.
  • The Australian dollar is the legal currency in Nauru. You should be prepared to pay cash for hotel bills and all other services since credit card services are not available.
  • Tourists are required to have $120AUD per day to cover their daily expenses in Nauru.
  • Access to and from Nauru is limited to a small number of commercial air flights each week.
  • Transportation may be interrupted due to weather, political or labor disputes, economic difficulties, and other reasons.

    • 500 grams of tobacco and 200 cigarettes only if travelers are over 16 years old.
    • Two liters of wine or alcoholic drinks on condition that the travelers are over 21 years old.

  • The Nauru business visa is for Gambians looking to travel to Nauru for business purposes.
  • A temporary residency paperwork should be provided to foreigners by the host company. 
  • Applicants should also provide an invitation letter from a company that operates in Nauru or other sponsors.
  • For sponsored applicants, a letter from employer or sponsoring company should be provided introducing the applicant, indicating the applicant's employment status/position held in the company and clearly stating the purpose of visit to Nauru.
  • The business letter must also indicate who will be financially responsible for the applicant and must provide detailed contact information in Nauru.
  • Certificate of Business Registration of the inviting company should be submitted with other necessary documents.
  • While agriculture, forestry, and fisheries combined provide 12% of Nauru’s GDP, the majority of that input comes from fishing: not as a local commercial industry but through sales of fishing licenses.
