Entry Requirements

  • Citizens of Ghana traveling to Bangladesh with the intention to stay for 3 months or less do not require a visa
  • Visitors are required to have a passport valid for up to six months beyond the planned stay. Passports must have at least one page for visa stamps
  • Ghanaians from one year and above are required to show proof of Yellow Fever vaccination.
  • Vaccination for Hepatitis A and Typhoid is required for visitors coming into Bangladesh
  • A visitor is required to have an onward or return ticket
  • Visitors are also required to provide a hotel or residence confirmation and proof of funds to support their visit
  • Visitors must declare at least 5,000 U.S. dollars and cannot depart with more than one US dollar declared upon entry 
  • There are penalties for overstaying a visa, and it can be very difficult and time consuming to change immigration status after arrival. Overstay penalties are as follows: 1 to 15 days = 200 Bangladeshi taka per day + 160 U.S. dollar (or equivalent in Bangladeshi taka) processing fee; 16 to 30 days = 500 Bangladeshi taka per day + 160 U.S. dollar (or equivalent in Bangladeshi taka) processing fee; 31 days or more = Adjudication at immigration office
  • When traveling by air, all travelers except children under the age of two must pay a departure tax. While often included when air tickets are purchased, it may be collected at the airport at the time of departure. The amount varies depending on the destination
  • Ghanaians intending to visit Bangladesh should check for  hepatitis A, hepatitis B, typhoid, cholera, yellow fever, rabies, meningitis, polio, measles, mumps and rubella (MMR), Tdap (tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis), chickenpox, shingles, pneumonia, and influenza vaccines
