  • Ghanaian passport holders can stay in Tanzania visa-free for a duration of 90 days.
  • Travelers are required to declare international currency valuing more than $10,000 on both entrance and exit from Tanzania. Non-residents (except Kenyans and Ugandans) may not import or export Tanzanian Shillings (TZS).
  • Your passport must be valid for six months for the duration of your stay with one blank page.
  • Before entry into Tanzania, visitors must have a residence permit or pass.
  • Visitors must have two passport photographs, an invitation letter if invited over, a copy of the round trip flight ticket, proof of sufficient funds and hotel accommodation.
  • You can extend your stay to a maximum of 180 days at the immigration office in Dar es Salaam.
  •  minors under 18 years traveling alone or with only one parent/legal guardians should be accompanied by a notarized letter, jointly signed by parents or legal guardians approving the minor to travel and a copy of their ID.
  • Pet licenses/certificates are required when traveling with pets to Tanzania. 
  • Ghanaians visiting Tanzania must check for hepatitis A, hepatitis B, typhoid, yellow fever, rabies, meningitis, polio, measles, mumps and rubella (MMR), Tdap (tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis), chickenpox, shingles, pneumonia, and influenza vaccines.
  • Direct flights are available from the Kotoka International Airport Accra, Ghana to Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania. The estimated flight time is between 5 - 6 hours.
