Greenland is an autonomous region of the Kingdom of Denmark, located between the Arctic and Atlantic oceans, east of the Canadian Arctic Archipelago. Though physio-graphically a part of the continent of North America, Greenland has been politically and culturally associated with Europe for more than a millennium. It is the world's largest island and an autonomous Danish dependent territory with limited self-government and its own parliament. Denmark contributes two thirds of Greenland's budget revenue, the rest coming mainly from fishing. It has an area of 2.166 million km² and its capital city as Nuuk.
