The number of tourist visits in Bangladesh last year was estimated to be a total of 620,000. This was a massive increase from the number posted the previous year. For the next year, the government has set a target of welcoming one million tourists to the country.
If you are in possession of more than $5,000 or its equivalent on entry to Bangladesh, you are required to declare. You cannot leave the country with more than the amount of USD you took in with you and you cannot leave the country with 5,000 Bangladeshi takas. Avoid taking photographs of military and government buildings.
