Denmark issues a visitor visa for tourism or private visits to Indians visiting for those purposes. It is a Schengen country so you have to apply for a Schengen visa. Before applying for this visa, ensure you have settled your accommodation in Denmark as it is an important criterion for the visa issuance. This visa is valid for 90 days To be eligible for this visa, you are required to have at least  DKK 350 per day if you have a host and DKK 500 per day if you would be staying in a hotel. Visitors must have a travel insurance policy worth € 30,000 and must be valid for the length of the visa you are applying for otherwise, your stay would be shortened. If you have previously been deported from Denmark or declared as undesirable, you would not be issued a visa. Applicants are required to have a return ticket as proof that they will not overstay the Denmark visa. It is important to abide by the rules and laws in Denmark, if you do not, you would be deported. If the immigration officer considers you a threat or is feels you are seeking permanent residence in Denmark, you will not be granted a visa. All applications are to be submitted in person and an interview would be conducted.

A business visa for Denmark is issued for a 90-day business visit to Denmark. This visa is a Schengen visa and can be used for an unrestricted entry into other Schengen states. The Denmark business visa does not allow its holder to work unless the immigration service has granted them the explicit right to do so. You can however carry out certain work-related activities without a work permit if you are visiting for less than 90 days. If you have to travel to Denmark several times, you can apply for a long-stay visa which allows multiple entries into the country. To be eligible for this visa, your passport must be valid for three months beyond the expiration date of your visa and should not have been issued for over 10 years. Travel insurance coverage worth € 30,000 is also required. It would be used to take care of any emergency that can arise in Denmark during your stay. Accommodation is also required. The reservation should be valid through the visa application period. If you remain in Denmark after your visa expires or if you attempt to use your visa stay to obtain permanent or long-term residency in Denmark, you can be given a penalty period of 3 or 5 years.  Anyone given a penalty would not be able to visit Denmark for that period. The visa costs 60 euro for individuals above 12 years old, 35euro for children between 6-11 years and free of charge for children of 0-6 years.

If you’re coming to work in a role which is paid significantly above the average wage, or for an employer who has been approved by the government as an international recruiter, you can apply for this visa. The Danish student visa is available for Indians intending to study in one of the universities in Denmark. Danish universities are known for being leaders in terms of innovation, as they are keen on investing in world-class research facilities. It is necessary for you to confirm your admission status by showing an admission letter as proof that you have been offered admission to study in Denmark. The letter is issued by the authorities of the institutions you intend to study in. Students are required to have 1000 Euros per month to cover their finances. A proof of language proficiency (in English or Danish, depending on which language you are undertaking your studies in) is needed. If you are able to get a job, you can apply for a new permit. This would enable you to work up to 20 hours a week. It is also necessary for you to have proof of accommodation in Denmark or an arrangement should be made to get you an accommodation there.
