Basic Travel Requirements for Indians visiting Italy

Travelers are required to fulfill the following requirements in order to apply for a Italian Visa.


  • A duly completed and signed visa application form.
  • A passport valid for at least 6 months after the intended arrival date.
  • Two (2) blank pages of the passport are needed for visa stamps.
  • Two recent passport-sized photographs (3.5 cm x 4.5 cm) taken on a white background
  • A valid travel medical insurance of 30,000 euros to cover the entire duration of stay.
  • A copy of your flight itinerary for the duration of the visit.
  • A letter of invitation from a host in Italy(if invited by a party in Italy).
  • A 3-month bank statement of the visa applicant.
  • A financial support indication from a sponsor (in the form of a notary statement or letter if the applicant's travel is sponsored).
  • Proof of accommodation.
  • A copy of the applicant's return flight ticket.
  • Documents showing the applicant’s ties to India. 
  • Documents confirming the purpose of travel.
