Basic Travel Requirements for Indonesians visiting Belgium
Travelers are required to fulfill the following requirements in order to apply for a Belgian Visa.
- An original Indonesian passport issued not more than 10 years and valid for at least 3 months beyond your intended return .
- The passport must contain at least two blank pages for visa stamping.
- Previously issued Schengen visa (if there is any) is required.
- Completely filled and signed visa application form.
- Two identical passport photographs(35mm x 45mm) with a light background.
- Travel insurance worth a minimum of 30,000 € and valid for Belgium and the entire Schengen area.
- Cover letter in which you explain why you wish to visit Belgium and you give further details on your trip.
- A proof of accommodation either with a host or at a hotel.
- A proof of sufficient funds for intended trip.
- A letter of invitation from the host in Belgium,

General Requirements for Belgium Visa

Belgium Tourist Visa Eligibility & Requirements
- Belgium tourist visa is issued to Indonesians seeking to visit Belgium for leisure purposes,
- This visa is valid for a maximum stay period of 90 days every 6 months.
- All applicants are expected to apply for the visa personally as their biometrics (fingerprints) would be required.
- The application form must be hand filled as online filled application forms would not be accepted.
- When applying for a Belgian visa, ensure you have no criminal records.
- Applicants are to have sufficient funds for their trip as proof would be required during application.
- Traveling minors are to present their original birth certificate while applying for a visa.
- A Belgian tourist visa costs 35 euros for children younger than 12 years, 60 euros for individuals over 12 years and is free for minors below 6 years of age.
- The fees are non-negotiable and non-refundable.
- A bank account statement, if you will be covering all costs by yourself should be provided.
- Proof of sponsorship In a situation where other person residing in Belgium will cover your expenses throughout your stay in Belgium, the following must also be submitted:
- A formal obligation not older than 6 months
- Copy of the guarantor’s 3 most recent salary sheets/ guarantor’s most recent tax sheet/ other official proof of the guarantor’s solvency;
- A photocopy of the identity card or the unlimited residence permit of the guarantor
- An original certificate of the family composition of the guarantor, issued by his/her municipality in Belgium (no residence certificate).

- Letter of Invitation by the relative/friend residing in Belgium attached to their Belgian ID card or Belgian residence permit.
Belgium Business Visa Eligibility & Requirements
- The Belgian business visa is issued to business-minded Indonesians travelling to Belgium for commercial or trade purposes.
- Holders of this visa can conduct businesses, negotiate and sign contracts, hire staff and even purchase business merchandise in Belgium.
- This visa is usually valid for a maximum of 90 days in 180 days.
- An invitation letter from the host company in Belgium stating the nature of the business to be conducted and the duration of the business would be required.
- Employed applicants are to present a letter from their employer in Indonesia stating the applicant's position at work and salary.
- An accommodation reservation for the duration of your business stay must be made during the application process.
- Sufficient funds are required for the trip. If your employer or host company in Belgium will sponsor the trip, it should be stated in a letter.
- Individuals are to have travel insurance with a minimum coverage of 30,000 euros valid for the duration of their stay.
- The visa fee is about 60 euros for individuals above 12 years and 35 euros for children between 6-11 years.
- Fees are usually non-negotiable and non-refundable.
- All applicants are expected to submit their applications in person to the Belgian embassy in Cambodia as an interview is sometimes required.
- Memorandum and Article of Association should be submitted in original certified copy (registered with joint stock companies).

Belgium Student Visa Eligibility & Requirements
- This visa type is issued to Indonesian students aiming to study in Belgium.
- Before applying for this visa you must have gained admission into an institution of learning in Belgium.
- A completed, signed hand filled visa application form is required.
- Students must have sufficient financial income or support for the duration of their course of study.
- If your institution would not provide accommodation for the student, the student must get external accommodation before applying for the visa.
- A medical certificate showing that you are free of any disease that is contagious is required.
- The original copy of your certificate from your previous degrees and academic records from the last schools attended should be submitted.
- Proof of registration at a recognized higher education institution in Belgium. It must cover a full-time course of study showing that the candidate’s main activity in Belgium is studying.
- Applicants would be required to write a supporting letter stating why they chose to study in Belgium instead of their home country, Indonesia.
- Documents in languages other than German, French, English or Dutch must be correctly translated.
- On arrival in Belgium, you must go to the local municipal administration within eight days to get a residence permit. The residence permit should be renewed yearly until you are done with your course of study.
- The application for a new permit should be submitted about 30 to 45 days before its expiry date.

Is Belgium safe to visit?
