Basic Travel Requirements for Indonesians visiting China

Travelers are required to fulfill the following requirements in order to apply for a Chinese Visa.


  • An original, signed passport plus one photocopy of the information page is required.
  • The presented passport must be valid for 6 months beyond stay in China, with at least two blank passports available for Chinese visas and entry stamps. 
  • A duly completed Chinese visa application form
  • A recently taken (48mm x 33mm) passport-sized photo taken on a light background.
  • An official invitation letter from china from tourist group, companies, institutions and individuals in china should be presented
    • If the invitation letter is issued by an individual in China, the photocopy of the ID of the individual is required.
    •  If the invitation letter is from a Non-Chinese citizen, the ID must be a copy of the valid passport, and a copy of legal status in China is required
    • If the inviter in China is a relative of the traveler, they must provide legal documentation proving the family relationships, such as a birth or marriage certificate.
  • A photocopy of the roundtrip airline ticket and hotel reservation or a cruise ticket may be submitted instead of the official invitation from China.
  • Applicants under 18 must be ready to present their birth certificate upon arrival and, unless traveling with both parents or a legal guardian, must also have copies of parents' passports.
  • If passport copies are not available for parent(s) then a parental letter of consent.
  • Computer-generated flight or cruise itinerary or copy of airline tickets or cruise ticket showing round trip travel to China or onward flight.
  • Proof of hotel reservation.
  • Travel Itinerary.

Facts about China


China, officially the People's Republic of China is a country in East Asia and the world's most populous country, with a population of around 1.404 billion in 2017. According to the World bank China’s GDP grew from $150 billion in 1978 to $12.24 trillion in 2017. In 2018, its GDP increased to $13.5 trillion (90 trillion yuan). Since 2010, China has been the country with the world’s second-largest economy by nominal GDP and the largest economy in the world by purchasing power parity in 2014.


China is also the world’s largest exporter and second-largest importer of goods and also the home to some of the world’s largest tech giants such as Huawei, Baidu, Tencent and Alibaba as it is the world’s most technologically advanced nation. Since 2019, China has the highest number of rich people in the world.
