Libya Tourist Visa Eligibility & Requirements
- Indonesians traveling to Libya for tourism purposes can apply for the Libyan tourist visa.
- Visitors traveling to Libya for touristic purposes are required to convert US$1,000, or equivalent, in freely convertible cash or debit the amount from a valid credit card upon arrival.
- Failure to do so will result in the traveler being refused entry.
- Exempted are those visiting a resident, provided holding proof of sponsorship covering the entire stay and those traveling as part of a paid tourist package if holding a valid visa.
- The import and export of local currency for both residents and non-residents are prohibited.
- Applicants are required to provide proof of yellow fever vaccination.
- Libya's economy operates on a “cash-only" basis for almost all transactions, so foreigners are advised to take enough cash.
- Within three days of arrival in Libya, visitors must register at the police station closest to where they are residing.
- When in Libya, you are expected to carry proof of citizenship and valid immigration status at all times. Make contingency emergency plans and maintain situational awareness at all times.
- Penalties for possessing, using, or trafficking in illegal drugs in Libya are severe, and convicted offenders can expect long jail sentences and heavy fines.
Libya Business Visa Eligibility & Requirements
- The Libyan business visa is for Indonesians traveling to Libya for business purposes.
- The Libyan business visa has two types:
- Single-entry visa: this visa is valid for 30 days.
- Multiple-entry visa: this visa is valid for 90 days.
- An invitation letter from the host company in Libya must be provided.
- Temporary residency paperwork should be provided to foreigners by the host company.
- Applicants should provide an invitation letter from a company that operates in Libya or other sponsors.
- For sponsored applicants, a letter from employer or sponsoring company should be provided introducing the applicant, indicating the applicant's employment status/position held in the company and clearly stating the purpose of visit to Libya.
- The business letter must also indicate who will be financially responsible for the applicant and must provide detailed contact information in Libya.
- Certificate of Business Registration of the inviting company should be submitted with other necessary documents.
