Basic Travel Requirements for Indonesians visiting Luxembourg

Travelers are required to fulfill the following requirements in order to apply for a Luxembourger Visa.

Luxembourg Tourist Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • The tourist visa is issued to Indonesians intending to visit Luxembourg for tourism purposes.
  • The Luxembourg tourist visa is a short stay visa which is also known as Type C visa.
  • The Schengen visa is valid for a maximum duration of 90 days in a six-month period.
  • Applicants are required to provide a well detailed cover letter stating the intending duration for this trip, the itinerary, dates, and places to be visited.
  • Proof of sufficient financial means is required. This is to certify that you can carter for yourself financially during this trip.
  • Proof of financial statement from your bank for the last 3 months and the statement is required and it must be signed by the current bank manager.
  • Applicants are required to provide a copy of your Income Tax Return papers for the last 2 years.
  • Proof of medical travel insurance valid in all the Schengen countries with a minimum coverage of EUR 30,000 must be provided. 
  • If you are a minor under the age of 18 years and intend to travel alone to Luxembourg, you will have to provide written consent from your parents or guardians who have your custody and it must be certified by a public notary. 
  • Currency restriction for entry into and exit out of Luxembourg is 10,000 Euros or equivalent.
  • If you are traveling for business purposes, you must provide the following:
    • Certificate of registration.
    • Tax forms.
    • Recent company bank statement.
    • Recent personal bank statement.
  • An invitation letter from the individual or company you will be meeting in Luxembourg must be provided. The purpose and duration of your trip should be included in this letter.

Luxembourg Student Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • Indonesia's traveling to Luxembourg for educational purposes for more than 90 days will have to obtain a student visa.
  • The Luxembourg student visa is a long-term visa granted to students who have already been accepted for admission by a recognized higher educational institute in Luxembourg.
  • Applicants are required to obtain the student visa before entry into Luxembourg.
  • Before you apply for a Luxembourg student visa, you must obtain a ‘temporary authorization to stay’ by applying to the Immigration Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Luxembourg.
  • This temporary authorization to stay is valid for a period of 90 days only. You will have to apply for your student visa within this 90 day period.
  • Applicants are required to provide proof of being enrolled as a full-time student in one of Luxembourg’s institutions for higher education.
  • Proof of full payment of tuition fee for the course must also be provided by the applicant.
  • Medical insurance that covers the total number of days you will be staying in Luxembourg as a student is required. The insurance must be valid for all Schengen countries for a minimum of EUR 30,000.
  • Students are also required to have 500 Euros monthly to cover their finances. 
  • Proof of accommodation should be submitted. This could be either a dormitory contract (signed between you and an official of a dormitory in the country where you will be staying) or rent Agreement (a contract with a property owner in this Schengen state, specifying the address and other information details about the facility and landlord).

Luxembourg Work Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • Indonesians planning on taking a job in Luxembourg are eligible to apply for a work visa.
  • This visa is known as a Type D visa.
  • To get a work visa for Luxembourg, you have to submit your application yourself, although your employer will usually help with this.
  • Applicants are required to apply to the Immigration Directorate for a temporary leave to stay in Luxembourg.
  • The temporary visa will allow you entry into Luxembourg so that you can complete the rest of the process once you arrive.
  • Application for a work permit is very necessary and it will be issued for a year. If you intend to stay beyond that point you are required to reapply.
  • A birth certificate must be provided by the applicant.
  • Applicants are required to provide proof of a clean criminal record.
  • Your resume and professional qualifications are required.
  • An employment contract must be provided.
  • The original certificate allowing the employer to hire a third-country national is required.
  • Applicants should provide a cover letter explaining their motivation for moving to Luxembourg.
