  • Indonesia citizens can get visa on arrival for travelling to Malawi as tourist and the maximum duration of stay is 30 days.
  • Intending visitors passport must valid for up to 6 months after arrival in Malawi and a national I.D card is usually sufficient.
  • Visitors are also required to provide proof of accommodation which might include a confirmed hotel reservation.
  • A bank statement for three months before the trip,  two (2) passport photographs, a cover letter and air ticket are needed.
  • Visitors are required to provide proof of sufficient funds to cover their stay (minimum of US$100 per day).
  • Although Malawi is a multi-lingual country with about nine languages, English and Chichewa are the official languages.
  • Visitors are advised to get vaccinated against Hepatitis A, B and Typhoid in order to be prepared against these diseases.
  • Visitors are advised to get Typhoid vaccines if they would be visiting smaller cities/ rural areas or if they are adventurous eaters. This is because typhoid could be gotten from contaminated food or water.
  • Minors visiting should be vaccinated against Measles.
