Travelers are required to fulfill the following requirements in order to apply for a New Zealander Visa.

New Zealand Tourist Visa Eligibility & Requirements

    • The New Zealand visitor's visa is issued to Indonesians traveling to New Zealand for tourism, visitation purposes.
    • Applicants staying for more than 6 months may need to get a chest X-ray or medical certificate.
    • Applicants are supposed to provide proof of medical insurance to cover their entire stay in New Zealand.
    • If you bring New Zealand Dollars (NZD) $10,000 or more in cash or foreign equivalent, you will be required to complete a Border Cash Report.
    • Visitors traveling to New Zealand for tourism, some student programs, or short-term businesses are required to pay an International Visitor Conservation and Tourism Levy (IVL).
    • A Customs Officer at the Port of Entry into New Zealand may examine items such as mobile phones, iPods, Android tablets, hard drives, laptops, and digital cameras.
    • The Officer may ask for your password or ask you to enter it. Fines of up to NZD $5,000 may be enforced for failure to comply.
    • New Zealand has very strict biosecurity procedures to prevent the introduction of harmful pests and diseases.
      • All biosecurity-risk goods must be declared or disposed of in bins at air and seaports.
      • If you do not declare goods considered to be a biosecurity risk, such as honey, fresh fruit, seeds, and plants, you will pay an instant fine of NZD $400.
      • Penalties for possessing, using, or trafficking in illegal drugs in New Zealand are severe, and convicted offenders can expect long jail sentences and heavy fines.
    • In New Zealand, driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol could land you in jail. Roadside sobriety checks by police are common.
    • Always carry identification and let someone else know where you are at all times.
    • When importing a pet, you will need thorough veterinary documentation and a quarantine period will be required.
    • Visitors traveling for business purposes must provide the following documents:
      • A business introduction letter is required.
      • A letter of invitation from the host company must also be provided.
    • This letter must include:
      • Your full name, date of birth, nationality and intended dates of travel.
      • The name of the host organization, its address, and phone numbers.
      • The purpose and nature of your visit in detail.
      • The certificate of business registration of the company in New Zealand is required.
      • Proof of previous business dealings with the New Zealand company must be provided( if any).

    New Zealand Student Visa Eligibility & Requirements

      • The New Zealand student visa enables Indonesian students to study full-time in any institution of their choice in New Zealand.
      • Before applying for this visa you must have been accepted into one of New Zealand's recognized institutions.
      • An admission letter from the institution you have been accepted into must be provided. The letter should state the course title, duration and if possible all the study fees applicable. 
      • Students are to provide certificates and transcripts of the previous schools they attended in Indonesian or any other country.
      • To study in New Zealand, Indonesians must take and pass an English language proficiency test (either PTE or IELTS).
        • For PTE, the applicant's score must fall between the range of 43-50 while for IELTS, a minimum overall band score of 5.5 is acceptable.
      • International students in New Zealand can work part-time for 20 hours per week when school is in session and full-time when school is on break.
      • Student travelers to New Zealand must be able to demonstrate they have enough funds to comfortably spend between $800 - $1000 every week during their entire stay in the country.
      • If you’re spending six months or more here in New Zealand you may need to be screened for tuberculosis.
      • It is possible to apply for a residence permit at the end of your study program in New Zealand.
      • Dependent children of temporary work visa holders in New Zealand also need a student visa.
        • This enables them to attend New Zealand primary and secondary schools as domestic students (they are not required to pay international student tuition fees).

      New Zealand Work Visa Eligibility & Requirements

      • The New Zealand work visa enables Indonesians to take up a job while in New Zealand.
      • An original Indonesian passport is required and the passport should be valid for at least three months beyond your stay in New Zealand 
      • Whether you are a sports player, a professional coach, specialist installer or home maintenance worker, you will need a work visa to legally work in New Zealand.
      • For a New Zealand work visa to be issued, the applicant must be between 18 and 30 years of age.
      • Work visa applicants are not allowed to bring along children. It is advised that the visa holder should have worked for at least 2 years before having dependents.
      • Your original offer letter from the New Zealand employer should be provided during the visa application process.
        • This letter should contain the company’s address, your full job description as well as proof that you will not be paid below the minimum wage stipulated by New Zealand.
        • Your employer should also provide proof that there was no New Zealand citizen available for the job you were offered.
      • Applicants are required to provide proof of health insurance.
      • Proof of good and clean records in the form of police clearance must be provided. 
      • Indonesians who do not have the appropriate qualification for the job they were offered will not be issued this visa.
      • After getting the work visa, you can then apply for a residence permit.
