Travelers are required to fulfill the following requirements in order to apply for a Portuguese Visa.

Portugal Tourist Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • The Schengen tourist visa is available for Indonesians visiting Portugal for vacations, tourism and relaxation purposes.
  • Applicants of this visa can also visit family and friends resident in Portugal.
  • Portugal is part of the Schengen Area which is made up of 26 European countries, so a Schengen visa is required. 
  • Tourists are required to register with Portuguese Immigration Service within three days of entering Portugal. Failure to comply with this requirement will result in an administrative offense punishable with a fine from €60 to €160.
  • The following documents are also required:
    • Your original passport and copies of your previous visas.
    • Proof of travel insurance to cover you for the Schengen area.
    • Cover letter stating the purpose of your visit and itinerary that includes your activities, flight dates and times, entry and exit out of Portugal.
    • Bank statements for the last three months.
  • Foreign travelers will not be liable to take up either paid or unpaid employment in the country.
  • They are also not allowed to benefit from public services such as public hospitals while in Portugal, that is why they are to travel with their insurance worth of a minimum of 30,000 Euros.

  • This visa enables Indonesians to visit Portugal to engage in business-related activities.
  • While you are in the country with this visa, you can meet up with business partners for meetings and to negotiate and sign contracts.
  • You can also attend trade fairs, conferences, and business summits while you are in the country.
  • An invitation letter from the company you will be visiting in Portugal should be provided.
    • The address of the company and the dates of your visit should be stated in the letter.
  • If the company you are meeting with in Portugal will be responsible for your expenses while in the country, it should be stated in the letter.
  • A letter is required from your employer in Indonesia stating awareness and allowance of your business travel for the duration of your time in the country.
  • If the applicant of this visa has been in business with this company before, proof of such events must be provided.
  • A Certificate of business registration of your business partner in Portugal is required.
  • You cannot be employed while you are in the country with this visa.
  • Holders of this visa are expected to exit the country at the expiration of their visa.

Portugal Medical Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • The Medical visa enables Indonisains to visit Portugal for medical treatment.
  • Portugal has a state-funded universal healthcare system offered to all.
  • Medical diagnosis is required from your local doctor and It should be accompanied by a document stating why the ailment is best treated in Portugal.
  • If you are planning to stay in Portugal for more than 90 days, you can ask for a certificate from your local council office. The certificate allows you to access Portugal’s public healthcare.
  • A medical attestation from the hospital or doctor in Portugal, confirming the date of appointment as well as your medical situation is required.
  • You are also required to provide proof of international health insurance when applying for your visa. The insurance must have a minimum coverage of EUR 30,000. It must have an emergency medical evacuation and repatriation benefit.
  • If you are employed:
    • A letter from your employer is required.
    • Your employer should state in the letter that he is aware of your leave, your position and how long you have been employed in the company should be clearly stated.
  •  Proof of payment of medical fees should be provided as well as medical insurance to cover the entire stay should be provided.
  • Minors must ensure that they possess the original copy of their birth certificate.
    • If they are traveling alone or with one of their parents, a document of consent which is signed by both parents of the minor should also be provided.
