Entry Requirements
- Citizens of Ivory Coast intending to visit Burkina Faso can be granted a 90 day visa-free entry.
- An original passport with at least six months validity, having at least 2 blank pages and a national ID is required
- The passports are expected to carry blank pages necessary for entry stamps.
- Visitors are expected to hold proof of yellow fever vaccination to be presented on arrival at the airport.
- A visitor is expected to have an onward or return ticket as well as a proof of accommodation, which could be a confirmed hotel reservation or an invitation letter from a host.
- They are also required to tender proof of subsistence.
- Visitors would be denied entry into the country if they can not tender the appropriate documents.
- Visitors are not restricted from importing either local or foreign currencies provided the imported amounts are declared on arrival.
- There are certain restrictions placed on the quantity of alcohol and tobacco visitors can bring into the country.
- A maximum amount of 200 cigarettes, 100 cigarillos, 50 cigars and 250g of tobacco is allowed.
- For visitors coming into the country with pets, such pets are to be accompanied by veterinary certificates.
- These certificates should show proof of rabies vaccination given not less than 3 weeks and not more than 6 months prior to arrival and statement that no case of rabies has occurred in Ivory Coast for 60 days prior to arrival.
- Travellers are not required to pay any airport tax upon departure from the airport.
- Penalties for using, possessing or trafficking illegal drugs in Burkina Faso are severe.
