Entry Requirements

  • Citizens of Ivory Coast planning on travelling to Gambia for no longer than 90 days can do so visa-free.
  • A valid passport is required on arrival.
  • The passport should be valid for at least six months after the intended departure date from Gambia and should have at least two blank pages for stamps.
  • If they wish to extend their stay, they must visit the Department of Immigration, Gambia for regularization of their stay.
  • Evidence of accommodation reservation or confirmed hotel booking is required.
  • Visitors must have all documents necessary for their next trip(i.e return/onward ticket).
  • Visitors must also be in possession of funds sufficient for the length of their stay.
  • Proof of Yellow Fever Vaccination must be provided on arrival.
  • There are currently no Gambian embassies or consulates in Ivory Coast.
  • Arms and ammunition are to be accompanied by authorization from the Ministry of Interior.
  • There are no restrictions on the local and foreign currencies brought into the country.
  • Restriction is placed on the amount of tobacco and alcohol brought into the country.
  • Cats and dogs must be accompanied by an import permit issued by certificates from a veterinarian indicating good health and rabies inoculation.
  • The official currency used in Gambia is the Gambia Dalasi (GMD).
