Basic Travel Requirements for Kenyans visiting Belize

Travelers are required to fulfill the following requirements in order to apply for a Belizean Visa.

  • A Kenyan passport valid for at least 6 months from the intended arrival date containing 2 blank pages for visa stamp.

  • Duly completed and signed visa application form.

  • If the applicant is a minor, the parents/legal guardians are required to sign the form.

  • Three passport-size photographs (4.5 x 3.5 cm) taken in white background.

  • Travel document must be complete.

  • Proof of financial capability.

  • Proof of accommodation or hotel reservations.

  • Copy of return flight ticket.

  • Documentation showing applicants' ties to home country.

  • A police report showing the traveler does not have a criminal record.

The tourism industry is now the second largest industry in Belize and the Belizean government aims to use the strength of the tourism industry to alleviate poverty in the country. The country receives an average of 1 million tourists each year. With the focus of the Belizean Government on tourism, this number is set to increase in the years to come.
 
Foreigners are required to declare sums of $5,000 on entry and exit from the country. Drug-related crimes attract severe punishment which may include huge fines or lengthy prison sentences.

Belize Business Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • Business Visa allows foreigners to engage in various business activities whilst they are in the country.
  • Business travelers can conduct transactions, attend trade fairs, conferences, and business summits with this visa.
  • Kenyans with the intention of attending conferences whilst  in Belize should provide proof of registration for the conference.
  • The validity of the Belize business visa is 180 days.
  • The processing time of this Belize business visa is 30 days.
  • Applicants are to provide proof of travel insurance covering their duration of stay in Belize
  • Belize is the only English language-speaking country in Central America.
  • This visa is usually issued for either single entry or multiple entry.
  • The Single Entry visa is for  valid for six (6) months.
  • The Multiple Entry visa is issued for multiple use and is valid for twelve (12) months. It is also issued to persons with Special Permits residing in Belize.
  • Applicants are to provide proof of financial capacity to cover the duration of stay.
  • A letter from the applicants' employer stating the purpose and duration of the leave  is required. 
  • A letter of invitation bearing the letterhead of the company in Belize, and duly signed by an authorized signatory of the company should be provided. 
  • The letter must state  who bears the financial responsibility of the applicant through his stay.
  • proof of previous business transactions between the host company and the sponsoring company is necessary
  • A receipt that shows that visa application fee has been paid in full is required.
  • Proof that the applicant has the incentive of returning to his/her country at the expiration of the visa is needed.
  • Minors are expected to be in possession of the unabridged original copy of their birth certificate, as well as, a letter of consent signed by both their parents.

Belize Transit Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • This visa is for Kenyans making short stops in Belize.
  • The Transit Visa allows Kenyans to transit through Belize to their destination country.
  • Traveling from Kenya to Belize and from Belize back to Kenya is not regarded as transit.
  • Applicants of this visa may have the intention of boarding a flight from an airport in Belize to their destination country.
  • Kenyans who will be joining a crew ship in Belize to transit to their third destination also require this visa.
  • Applicants are to provide visa and other entry permits of the destination country.
  • Flight ticket of the destination country should be provided.
  • Applicants below a 18  should present the original copy of their birth certificate during the visa application process.
  • Applicants are to submit proof of visa application fee payment.
  • This visa cannot be extended.

Belize Tourist Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • Kenyans visiting Belize for relaxation, recreation, and sightseeing purposes are eligible applicants  for the Tourist Visa.
  • Other eligible applicants of this visa are Kenyans who have been invited to Belize by their friends and relatives residing in the country.
  • Kenyans in Belize have the luxury of attending festivals and events of their choice during their time in the country.
  • Applicants are to note that getting this visa is not a guarantee that they would be allowed into the country. Acceptance in the country is at the discretion of the immigration officer at the port of entry.
  • All applicants are to submit their application at least 30 days before the date of departure.
  • The Belize tourist visa has a validity of 30 days. 
  • Applicants of this visa who have received an invitation from their friends or relatives in Belize are expected to submit the letter of invitation from their host in the country.
  • This invitation letter should state the relationship between the applicant and the host and should also state the valid contact address of the host.
  • Each individual, regardless of age, must make a separate application. 
  • The tourist visa application fee is non -refundable.
  • The visa application fee cost 200usd.
  • The Belize tourist visa either a single or multiple entry visa.
  • The processing time for this visa is 14 -21 days.
  • Applicants are to submit proof of travel insurance, equivalent of 30,000 usd.
  • If you are employed, a letter from your employer in Kenya, stating the applicants' job status and the contacts of the company is required. 
  • Applicants who intend to spend more than 30 days in Belize are to submit an extension- of -stay form at any of the immigration offices in Belize. This should be done at least 2 or 3 days before the expiration of the visa.
  • If you are under the age of 18, the unabridged original copy of your birth certificate is required. a letter of consent signed by both your parents is necessary if you are travelling alone.
  • Applicants are to provide a proof of the intention of returning to Kenya at the expiration of their visa.
  • applicants are to submit a proof of visa application fee payment.
  • Kenyans are not allowed to take up paid or unpaid work during their time in Belize.
