Basic Travel Requirements for Kenyans visiting Chile
Travelers are required to fulfill the following requirements in order to apply for a Chilean Visa.
A Kenyan passport valid for at least 6 months from the intended arrival date and must have 2 blank pages for visa stamp. Duly completed and signed visa application form. If the applicant is a minor, the parents/legal guardians have to sign the form. Three passport-size photographs (4.5 x 3.5 cm) taken in white background. Travel document must be complete. Proof of financial capability. Proof of accommodation/hotel reservations. Copy of return flight ticket. Documentation showing applicant’s ties to home country. A police report showing the traveler does not have a criminal record. Medical insurance that covers the entire duration of stay. Documentation confirming the purpose of travel. Chile Tourist Visa Eligibility & Requirements
The visa is issued to foreigners who are entering the country for recreational, sports, health, short studies, business, family, religious or other similar purposes without immigration purposes. The Tourist Visa does not allow Kenyans to take up permanent residence in the country. The Chilean tourist visa can not be issued on arrival. Kenyans who intend to visit their friends and relatives can visit do so using this visa type. A scanned copy of your passport (only the photo page is needed)should be submitted. The passport must be valid for at least 18 months. If your passport will expire soon, we recommend you renew it before applying. Applicants are to provide a cover letter, introducing yourself, explaining who you are, what you do, and stating your reasons for planning to visit Chile. Also explain if you have any bond in Chile before. A criminal record certificate from the appropriate ministry in kenya showing you have not been convicted of a crime before should be presented. Applicants are to provide a contagious disease clearance certificate. This must be signed by a registered medical practitioner and dated within 30 days prior to your application. The certificate must certify you are free of any contagious diseases and in good health for your upcoming travel to Chile. A certificate of kinship. You need to submit this in case you already have a relative living in Chile (child or spouse). Proof of funds or income. Your visa might allow you to get a job in Chile, however, you need to show proof that you have enough funds to finance your trip. Flight ticket/flight itinerary. There is no need to confirm flight tickets before the visa has been granted. You can provide a one-way flight booking. However, you need to provide a valid itinerary. The Chilean tourist visa has a processing time of 14-20 days. If you are visiting a family or a relative in the country, a letter of invitation from the host is required. The letter should contain the home address, telephone number, and the valid means of identification of the host. Foreigners cannot be remunerated for the activities they render while they are in the country. Only short courses are permitted on this visa. If you need to study full-time you should apply for the Student Visa. You can attend festivals and events during your visit to the country. If the applicant is employed, a letter from the applicant’s employer stating allowance of leave and continuing employment on return to Kenya. A copy of your stay permit in Kenya is required. If you are under the age of 18 years, the unabridged original copy of your birth certificate should be submitted. You are also required to have a letter of consent signed by both your parents if you are traveling alone. A document that shows you have the incentive of returning to your country should be presented during the visa application process. Proof of paid visa application form is required. Ensure that you obey all the rules of this visa.
Chile Work Visa Eligibility & Requirements
The Chilean work visa is issued to Kenyans who are travelling to Chile for work purposes. This visa allows Kenyans to travel to Chile to take up paid work. The Work Visa has a maximum duration of two years. The Chilean work visa must be sponsored by a registered Chilean company. There is also the resident visa subject to dependent contract, it is granted to the family members of the owner of a Work Visa, with a similar duration and does not allow work. A letter from the employer in Chile directed to the Consulate of Chile that justifies the hiring of the applicant. A letter from your employer in Chile should be sent to the Chilean consulate justifying your employment. A copy of the applicants work contract with the Chilean company should be submitted(it should be notarized and translated). A police report showing that the applicant does not have any criminal record should be submitted. Applicants are to submit documents/certificates that show that he is qualified for the job. The employer should provide a proof that there was no Chilean qualified and willing to take the job being offered. A notarized work contract written with the Chilean legal norms signed by both the employer and the employee. This document should be translated to Chilean. The applicant is required to provide a police certificate which shows a clean criminal record. A medical certificate from your doctor in Kenya showing that you do have any diseases. The contracting company must provide her VAT payment corresponding to the last three months and the workers’ forecast from the corresponding time. Applicants who do not have the right qualification may not be issued this visa.
Chile Student Visa Eligibility & Requirements
This visa is granted to Kenyans who intend to travel to Chile in order to study as a regular student in state educational establishments o individuals recognized by the latter. This visa allows its holders to stay in the country for a maximum period of one year and in the case of scholarship holders, for the duration of the scholarship. A letter of acceptance from the institution which you have being offered admission should be submitted. The letter should state the course you have been offered and the duration of the study is required. Certificate of criminal background should be submitted. The chilean it costs $131 to process this visa. The Chilean student visa is valid for a minimum of 6 months and needs to be renewed after a year. Usually, applicants will receive the outcome of their application within 14 to 20 working days. Applicants must possess a valid passport. The passport must be valid for at least six months after the date of departure from Chile. Applicants are to submit their visa application form. The form must be filled in English, and typed—not handwritten. A visa request letter from the agency arranging the exchange (if applicable)should be submitted. This letter must provide the full name of the applicant, details of the school to be attended, details of placement in Chile and name of the agency's contact person in Chile. A contagious diseases-clearance certificate is to be submitted to the embassy. This certificate must be signed by a registered medical practitioner and must be issued within 30 days prior to the date of application. The certificate has to confirm that you are free from any contagious diseases/ illnesses before traveling to Chile. This is just a regular medical check (done with blood and urine samples, no x-rays) to ensure you have no contagious diseases. Applicants under the age of 18 years are to provide the unabridged original copy of their birth certificate. If you are traveling with one or none of your parents, a notarized consent signed by both your parents is required. International students are allowed to work part-time when school is in session and full-time when on break. Proof of paid visa application fee should be submitted by applicant. Applicants are required to have a document which proves that they have the incentive of returning to your country at the expiry of your visa.
