Basic Travel Requirements for Kenyans visiting Germany

Travelers are required to fulfill the following requirements in order to apply for a German Visa.


  • Kenyan passport with a validity of 3 months after the intended date of exit from the country. The passport should have two blank pages for necessary stamps.
  • Duly completed visa application form which has been signed where necessary.
  • One biometric passport-size photograph taken with a white background. The passport must not be older than 3 months old.
  • Bank statement and pay slips of the past three months prior to the period of visa application. This is proof that you can cater for yourself during your stay in the country.
  • Valid travel insurance with a coverage of €30,000 for medical insurance.
  • Proof of accommodation for the duration of your stay in the country.
  • Return or onward ticket.
  • Copy of travel itinerary.
