Basic Travel Requirements for Kenyans visiting Iceland
Travelers are required to fulfill the following requirements in order to apply for a Icelander Visa.
- Fully completed and signed visa application form
- Two recently taken passport-size photographs (4.5x 3.5cm), both taken within the last three months.
- A valid Kenyan passport not older than 7 years, with at least six months validity beyond the date you plan to leave Sweden.
- A travel insurance policy with a minimum coverage of 30,000 euros, for the whole Schengen territory, in case of any medical emergency such as illnesses, accidents and even repatriation in case of death.
- A police report showing the traveler does not have a criminal record.

- Foreigners allowed to study under three months with the Iceland tourist visa.

- Kenyans traveling with amount over 10,000 Euros or equivalent must be declared upon entry to Iceland
- You might be asked to submit your tax reports. If someone is responsible for providing you with the funds, you will need a letter from the entity or person.
- Iceland has a low crime rate with rare instances of violent crime. Using common sense will go a long way in ensuring you do not become a victim.
- Though whale meat and other products that utilize whale parts are sold throughout Iceland, foreigners are not allowed to export it back to their country.
- Seizure of the goods and possible criminal prosecution should be expected if the rules are violated. Penalties include jail time and fines of up to $10,000.
- Extreme care should be taken when driving in rural areas during the winter when daylight hours are limited and the weather and road conditions can change rapidly.
- Many routes in the interior of the country are impassable until July due to muddy conditions and swollen rivers caused by snow melt.
