How to get a Iraq visa from Kenya

• The Iraqi tourist visa is issued to Kenyans who have the intention of visiting Iraq for sightseeing, relaxation, recreation, and pilgrimage.
• This visa is a single-entry visa, and it is valid for 30 days.
• Tourist visas to Iraq for individuals need to be applied inside Iraq by an Iraqi sponsor who gives a copy of the passport of the applicant with a responsibility letter to the Iraqi Ministry of Interior Affairs department and asks them to send the approval to the closest Iraqi Consulate for the applicant, then the consulate will issue the visa directly.
• For groups of 5 people or more, the visa must be applied through the Iraqi tourist companies which are contracted with the Iraqi Ministry of Tourism.
• Travelers are required to provide approval reference number that is issued by the Iraqi Ministry of Interior Affairs department.
• It is important that visitors acquire a residency stamp within their first seven days in the country. There is a high-cost penalty for visitors who do not obtain the required residency stamp.

• Single-entry visa: this visa is valid for three months.
• Multiple-entry visa: this visa is valid for six months to one year.
• A letter from your employer in Kenya addressed to the Consulate of Iraq stating the nature of the business to be conducted, as well as, the name of the company you will be conducting business with.
• An official letter of invitation from your partner company in Iraq written on the company’s letterhead and stating the purpose, and duration of the applicants' visit.

• Applicants of this visa intend to work in Iraq.
• Kenyans who intend to apply for this visa should ensure they have been given a contract by the Iraqi company they intend to work for.
• An official letter from your employer in Iraq stating that you have been offered employment should be provided. The name of the company, address of the company and your job position should be included in the letter.
• The applicants' employment contract should state they will not be paid below the official minimum wage of the country.
• Kenyans are required to present a copy of their stay permit in the country.
• Applicants should ensure they have been vaccinated against yellow fever. Also, immunization against malaria is necessary.
• Proof that you have made payment for the visa application.
• Foreigners applying for this visa are required to have a clean criminal record. A previously convicted criminal may not be issued this visa.
• A document which shows that you have the incentive of returning to your country at the expiry of your visa.

• The transit visa is issued to Kenyans who intend to make stop-overs in Iraq.
• Applicants of this visa can make stops at an Iraqi airport and board a connecting flight to their destination country.
• Kenyans should have the visa and other entry permits to their destination country.
• Flight ticket to your destination country should also be provided.
• If you are under the age of 18 years, the original copy of your birth certificate should be provided. Applicants who are traveling without their parents or with one of their parents should provide a letter of consent signed by both their parents.
• Holders of this visa are not allowed to work during their time in the country.
• Receipt of paid visa application fee is required.
• You cannot study with this visa.
• This visa cannot be extended.
