Travelers are required to fulfill the following requirements in order to apply for a Libyan Visa.

  • Passport which has a validity of more than 6 months from the intended date of exiting the country. The passport must have two blank pages.

Libya Tourist Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • This visa is issued to Kenyans traveling to Libya for the purpose of leisure and tourism.
  • With this visa, applicants can visit their friends and relatives who are have taken up residence in the country.
  • Kenyans visiting a host in the country are required to provide a letter of invitation from their host. The letter should indicate the relationship between the applicant and the host and should include the valid contact information of the host.
  • If the applicant is employed, a letter from the applicants' employer introducing the employer and stating the job position the applicant is holding in the company. The duration and purpose of the trip should be stated in the letter.
  • A copy of your Kenyan stay permit is required.
  • If you are under the age of 18 years, the original copy of your birth certificate is required. If you are traveling with none of your parents a letter of consent signed by both your parents is required.
  • A document that shows that you have the incentive to return to Kenya at the expiry of your visa.
  • The receipt that shows that payment has been made for visa application.
  • Foreigners are not allowed to engage in business activities or work while they are in the country.
  • Kenyans are expected to leave the country on or before their visa expires.
  • It is advised that you are vaccinated against yellow fever before traveling to the country. International Certificate of Vaccination for yellow fever is required.

  • With this visa, foreigners are free to negotiate and sign business contracts with their partners in the country.
  • Foreigners can attend conferences, trade fairs, and business summits.
  • A letter from the applicants' employer introducing the applicant and stating the position held in the company. The duration and the purpose of the business trip should be stated in the letter.
  • An official letter of invitation from the host company is required. The letter should be written on the company’s letterhead and be signed by an authorized signatory.
  • Certificate of Business Registration of the inviting company should be submitted with the other necessary documents.
  • If the host company or the applicants' employer is going to take responsibility for the applicants' expenses, it should be stated in the business letter.
  • Proof of previous business dealings between the two companies should be provided if any.
  • Receipt of payment of visa application is required.
  • Proof of the incentive of returning to your country. Your original marriage certificate or the original of your child’s birth certificate would suffice.
  • Kenyans are not permitted to receive payment for the services they render in Libya.
