Mali visa requirements for Kenyans

• Applicants of this visa have the intention of visiting Mali for the purpose of sightseeing, recreation and relaxation.
• You must have an original Kenyan passport with at least six-month validity remaining.
• Two passport photos with white background, taken within the last six months must be included in your documents.
• Kenyans who have been invited by friends and relatives to Mali are also eligible for this visa.
• If you have been invited by a friend or relative in the country, a letter of invitation from your host should be provided. Information on the letter from your host should include your host’s home address and telephone number.
• If you are not staying with a friend or family, a copy of confirmed hotel reservation is required. If staying in more than one hotel, please provide copies of each hotel reservations.
• You must have a reservation of flight itinerary under your name. The itinerary must show applicant's entry and exit flight plan.
• Holders of this visa can attend events and festivals taking place in the country while they are there.
• Minors traveling with one or none of their parents should provide a letter of consent signed by both parents of the minor. Also, the original copy of minor’s birth certificate should be submitted.
• Applicants are to provide proof that they will return to their country at the expiry of their visa.
• Proof of payment of visa application fee is required.
• Kenyans who are in the country on this visa are not allowed to be gainfully employed.
• A copy of the Kenyan stay permit is required for non-Kenyans.
• Travelers are advised to be vaccinated against yellow fever before traveling to the country. Travelers must have a copy of International Certificate of Vaccination (ICV) for yellow fever.
• Mali is not a very safe place for travelers. But if you decide to travel to Mali, here are some safety measures;

    - Guard your wallets and your passport, whether you are in a crowded, open or deserted place.

   - Be careful of thieves and pickpockets.

    - Use all the available safety measures. Lock the doors and windows at all time, and set an alarm system.

    - If you are asked to stop by the police, make sure you stop at well-lit areas or areas where other police officers are.

• The Mali Business Visa is for Kenyans intending to visit Mali for business. 
• A Kenyan passport with at least six-month validity is required.
• During your time in the country, you can meet up with your business partners to negotiate and sign business contracts.
• Business travelers are permitted to attend conferences, trade fairs and business summits while they are in the country.
• Applicants who intend to attend conferences in the country are advised to register for the conference before they leave Kenya. The certificate of registration should be submitted with the necessary documents required.
• A business letter from the sending company in Kenya or the sponsoring company in Mali is required. 
• The business letter  from the sending company in Kenya must have the following requirements:

            - Brief introduction of the applicant (that includes the position held in the company by the applicant)

            - Nature of business to be conducted

            - Guarantee of sufficient funds for the travel.

• A letter of invitation written on the company’s letterhead should be provided. The letter should state the duration and purpose of your visit.
• If the travel expenses of applicants would be taken care of by the company in Mali, it should be stated in the letter provided by the company.
• A letter from your current employer indicating your employment status and position held in the company is needed. This letter should also state the purpose of your visit to Mali.
• Certificate of business registration of the company in Mali should be submitted with other documents.
• Non-Kenyans should provide a copy of their stay permit in Kenya.
• If you are traveling with a minor, the unabridged original copy of minor’s birth certificate should be submitted.
• Applicants on this visa cannot be paid for the services they render while they are in the country.
• International Certificate of Vaccination against yellow fever is required.

• This visa allows Kenyans to make a brief stop in Mali while travelling.
• An original and signed valid passport with at least one blank page for a Mali visa stamp is required.
• Two recent 2 x 2' passport photographs are required. These photos must be in color, taken in front view and against a white  background.
• Travelers are required to have a copy of their onward destination visa ready. Applicants of this visa have the intention of boarding a connecting flight from Mali to their destination.
• Travelers are required to have proof of travel arrangements. Computer-generated flight itinerary from the airline or a travel agency should be brought as proof of travel arrangements.
• Applicants of this visa are required to present the flight ticket to their destination.
• Visa and other entry permits to the destination country should also be provided.
• Holders of this visa are not allowed to work or study while they are in the country.
• A document which shows that foreigners have the incentive of leaving the country should be provided.
• Applicants who are not citizens of Kenya are required to present a copy their stay permit in Kenya.
• If you are a minor, a letter of consent signed by both your parents should be provided. The original copy of your birth certificate is also required.
• All travelers are advised to be vaccinated against yellow fever before departing their country. A copy of the International Certificate of Vaccination against yellow fever is required of the traveler.
• The Mali transit visa cannot be extended.
