Basic Travel Requirements for Laotians visiting Belgium

Travelers are required to fulfill the following requirements in order to apply for a Belgian Visa.


  • A duly completed and signed Belgium visa application form. 
  • Two identical passport photographs not older than three months, 35mmX45mm in size and must be taken against a light grey background. 
  • A passport not older than 10 years with a validity period of three months after your exit date in Belgium and must have two blank pages for visa stickers. 
  • Copies of your previous visa (if any). 
  • The Belgian languages include French, German and Dutch, Applicants are required to submit a language preference form stating in what language they want their application to be processed. 
  • Applicants who wish to complete their visa application in English should select no preference. 
  • Schengen medical travel insurance amounting to 30,000 euros to cover your medical emergencies while in the country.
  • A cover letter stating the purpose of your visit to Belgium, your entry and exit dates and the duration of stay in the country. 
  • Round trip flight itinerary
  • Marriage certificate, children birth certificate or spouse death certificate to show proof of civil status.  
  • Proof of accommodation. 
  • Proof of sufficient financial means to cover your duration of stay in the country. Foreigners who intend to stay in a hotel must attest to owning 95 euro per day and applicants who wish to stay in cheaper accommodation must attest to owning a sum of 45 euro per day.
