Basic Travel Requirements for Laotians visiting Cyprus

Travelers are required to fulfill the following requirements in order to apply for a Cypriot Visa.

  • A duly completed and signed visa application form. 
  • An original passport valid for at least 3 months after the intended date of exit from Latvia. 
  • Copies of your previous passports (if any). 
  • Two passport-sized photos of size 35mm x 45mm.
  • A travel insurance confirmation of a minimum of 30,000 euros coverage within Latvia and the entire Schengen zone.

Cyprus Tourist Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  •  The Cyprus Tourist visa is a visa for travelers traveling to Cyprus for reasons other than immigration. 
  • It is also known as a Short stay visa which is why the visa is only issued for a short period of time. 
  • Foreigners who want to visit Cyprus to visit family/relatives or for tourism and leisure purposes are eligible for this type of visa. 
  • The holders of this type of visa can enter and exit Cyprus once or multiple times.
  • The duration of your stay will not exceed 90 days in any half of the year from the date of the first visit. 
  •  The tourist visa is extendable. 
  • For a visit to family and friends, a letter of invitation is required. The letter has to be duly signed and completed by the host and should include his/her contact details, house address, and occupation. It should also be signed by the Migration Department. 
  • A copy of a hotel reservation confirmed by the hotel manager would be needed. 
  • An itinerary of travel arrangements showing the arrival date and intended duration of stay. The tickets should be purchased before the visa is issued. 
  • The visa for the return country should be valid for at least three months beyond the intended duration of stay. 
  • Visitors to Cyprus are to have original passports valid for at least three months beyond the period of validity of the visa issued(you will have to make photocopies of the passports too). 
  • A bank statement is necessary to serve the evidence of the applicant being financially capable of covering their expenses during their intended duration of stay in Cyprus. 
  • When a minor intends to enter Cyprus unaccompanied, he/she is expected to provide a statement giving consent and duly signed by both parents, then signed by the mayor of their area. 
  • Two passport photos are required. A child has to include their parent’s passport photos too. 
  • The processing time takes about 10 to 15 days. 

Cyprus Business Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • The Cyprus business visa is a visa that allows visitors to Cyprus to attend conferences, seminars and business meetings.  
  • The business visa allows for more than one entry. So if you visit Cyprus often for business, note that the multiple entries would not exceed more than 90 days in a 180-day period for each visit from the first date of entry. 
  • The multiple-entry visa is valid for a year. In some cases, it might be valid for more than one year but not more than five years for certain persons. 
  • Applicants have to provide the embassy with evidence that they have been invited by a Cyprus company or are participating in any conference, seminars, or business events. 
  •   Holders of a Cyprus business visa can undertake any form of employment during the duration of their stay.  
  • For visits less than 90 days, visitors can exceed the duration of their stay while still in Cyprus. 
  • Any business visitor who wants to stay in Cyprus for more than 90 days can extend their stay by applying for a work or a temporary residence permit depending on their reasons for extension it will be approved. 
  • The business visas can be obtained from Cyprus Consulate after the applicant has received an invitation from a Cyprus corporate organization.
  • The time frame for obtaining a business visa depends on the embassy’s workload but it approximately takes 10 days. 
  • When visiting with a business visa, an official letter would be required. The letter should be addressed to the Consulate of Cyprus and have proof of the applicant’s wage or salary. 
  • A photocopy of tax declaration for the last three years will be required during the process of your visa application.  
  • If the applicant is self-employed, a letter from a solicitor, accountant, or bank manager should be provided to prove his/her financial status.  

Cyprus Student Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • Foreign students with the intention of studying in Cyprus are eligible for this visa. 
  •  A letter of acceptance from the school is to be presented. 
  • The applicant is to provide an enrollment certificate which allows them to attend courses in Cyprus.
  • Students in possession of this type of visa are to have the relevant permit issued by the Civil Archive and Migration Department for the visa application process. 
  • The student visa is issued for a specific educational institution. If any foreigner studying in Cyprus decides to change an institution, he/she has to obtain a new residence permit.
  • Foreigners on the student visa are not permitted to work. Exceptions are made for certain courses for which working permits may be issued to enable practical training during the summer holidays. 
  • The Cyprus visa is meant for  Foreigners studying full-time.  A full-time student is one who takes a minimum of 12 credits in a semester.
  • As a foreign student, you are allowed to invite your friends and relatives to Cyprus.  However, it is only under the condition that you can secure a bank deposit of 300 Cyprus Pound for each invited person.
  •  The applicants are to provide certificates and transcripts from previous schools. 
  • You are only allowed to work part-time as student during your stay in Cyprus. 
  • This visa can be extended to cover the duration of your study in the country.
  • If you are a minor, a letter of authorization signed by both your parents is required. Also, the original copy of your birth certificate should be presented.
  • Applicants of this visa are expected to present a proof of clean criminal record.
  • Receipt of paid visa application form is required.
