Basic Travel Requirements for Laotians visiting Germany

Travelers are required to fulfill the following requirements in order to apply for a German Visa.

  • A completed visa application form.
  • A passport with 6 months validity before the due date with blank visa pages. 
  • Two recently taken colour passport photos of 32- 36mm in height, taken against a gray background is required. 
  • Proof of accommodation in Germany is to be sent together with the necessary travel documents to the embassy. 
  • Applicants planning to stay with friends or relatives are expected to submit a copy of their passport and proof that they can support their stay. 
  • Proof of return ticket. 
  • Travel itinerary. 
  • Bank statements for the last 3 months to show proof of sufficient funds to cover stay period. 
  • A document showing your purpose of visit to Germany. 
  • Minors traveling alone are expected to show a consent letter written and signed by both parents.

Germany Tourist Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • Laotians who intend to visit Germany for sightseeing, tour and to visit friends and family can apply for the German tourist visa. 
  • A complete, correct and signed German visa application form. 
  • A German declaration of accuracy of information. 
  • A recently taken identical passport-sized photos. 
  • A valid passport not older than 10 years with at least a blank page for visa sticker. 
  • Personal bank statements for the last 3 months. 
  • Schengen travel insurance stating coverage for emergency medical treatment with a minimum of €30,000. 
  • Hotel booking document to show proof of accommodation in Germany. 
  • Proof of flight reservation. 
  • A bank statement not older than three months to show proof of sufficient funds to cover stay period in Germany. 
  • Employed applicants are expected to show leave letter from their company. 
  • A cover letter stating your purpose of visit to Germany, how long you intend to stay in Germany and what you will be doing in Germany. 
  • Invited applicants are expected to show a letter of invitation from their invitee. The letter should include the address, period of stay and the contact details of the host. 
  • Proof of Civil status ( Birth certificate or Marriage certificate).
  • Driver license or utility bill to show proof of residency. 
  • Consent letter from both parents for minors traveling without their parents.





Germany Business Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • A German business visa is a short-stay Schengen visa issued to Laotians visiting Germany for meetings, conferences, audits or business purposes. 
  • A German business visa permits its holder to remain in Germany for a duration of 90 days within 6 months.
  • A complete and signed German visa application form. 
  • A German declaration of accuracy of information. 
  • A recently taken identical passport-sized photos. 
  • A valid passport not older thank 10 years with at least a blank page for visa sticker. 
  • An A4 size copy of your passport data page. 
  • A document that shows that you have obtained health insurance in case of accident or illness while in Germany. The health insurance should cover costs of at least €30,000.
  • Flight itinerary. 
  • Hotel booking document stating the address, phone number and email address of the hotel to show proof of accommodation in Germany. 
  • Proof of Civil status ( Birth certificate or Marriage certificate).
  • Employed applicants are expected to show a payslip of the last 3 months or employment contracts to prove their financial status. 
  • Applicants who are self-employed are required to show a Certificate of Proprietorship or other proof of ownership (proof of land title, proof of income from a business). 
  • A bank statement not older than three months to show proof of sufficient funds to cover stay period in Germany. 
  • Business references. 
  • A detailed schedule of your business meetings (for stays over 30 days). 
  • An invitation letter from your business partner in Germany stating the invitee details, the dates, and purpose of your trip with a detailed schedule of the business meetings or training (day to day schedule). 
  • Certificate of Incorporation of the company. 
  • Company cover letter with the whole travel plan. The cover letter should contain your position, purpose, and duration of your stay, date of travel and if your trip expensed is covered by your employer. 

Germany Student Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • A German student visa is a visa issued to foreigners visiting Germany for full-time academic studies, German language courses for studies or a mandatory preliminary internship. 
  • Two completed national visa application forms. 
  • A valid national passport with blank pages for stamps. 
  • Previous passports (if any). 
  • A recently taken identical passport-sized photos.
  • Proof of admission into a learning institution in Germany. The following document can be used to show proof of admission:
    • University admission letter. 
    • Letter of admission in a foundation course. 
    • Letter of admission in a propaedeutic course. 
    • Letter of admission in a preparatory German language course. 
  • Authenticated certificate of earlier educational background. 
  • A curriculum vitae to show evidence of previous and current work experience or internship (if any). 
  • Blocked bank account or a letter of a declaration by your parents to show means of sustenance while in Germany. 
  • Covered health insurance of  €30,000 valid for at least 3 months. 
  • A motivational letter stating your reason for choosing the university and course of study. 
  • A marriage certificate (for married applicant). 
  • Proof of paid visa application fee. 
  • Proof of English language proficiency. 

Germany Medical Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • A German medical visa is a visa issued to Laotians visiting Germany for the purpose of seeking and receiving medical treatments. 
  • Applicants whose medical treatment is less than three months will have to apply for the Schengen medical visa. 
  • For a stay longer than three months, applicants are advised to obtain a national medical visa. 
  • Two fully completed and signed visa application forms. 
  • Two identical recently taken passport photos. 
  • A passport not older than 10 years with at least three months' validity and a blank page for the visa sticker. 
  • A copy of your passport data page in A4 size. 
  • Flight reservation. 
  • A letter issued by your health insurance company that confirms you have travel insurance of €30,000 that covers any medical emergency. 
  • A leave letter written by your employer stating the dates of your leave (for employed applicants). 
  • Documents confirming the applicant's need for medical treatments. 
  • Proof of accommodation. 
  • Proof of civil status.

Germany Work Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • A German work visa is a visa issued to Laotians who are qualified and desire to work in Germany for a stipulated period of time. 
  • Two complete, correct and signed German visa application form. 
  • A recently taken identical passport-sized photos. 
  • A valid passport not older than 10 years with at least a blank page for visa sticker. 
  • Your driver's license or utility bill to show proof of residence in your home country. 
  • A health insurance certificate from your German employer. 
  • An employment contract or a binding job offer stating your gross annual salary and a description of your employment in Germany.
  • A document showing approval by the federal employment agency. (if applicable).
  • Your updated curriculum vitae showing your academic qualifications and your job experience. 
  • Certificates or Diplomas to show proof of qualification. 
  • A cover letter written by you stating your purpose of visit to Germany and your duration of stay.
  •  Proof of a clean criminal record from your home or origin company. 
  • A German declaration of accuracy of information.
