Basic Travel Requirements for Laotians visiting South Africa

Travelers are required to fulfill the following requirements in order to apply for a South African Visa.


  • A Laotian passport valid for at least 6 months from the intended arrival date with at least 2 blank pages for visa stamp is required.
  • Duly completed and signed Laos visa application form.

  • A recently taken passport-sized photographs (35 mm x 45cm) in size.

  • Copies of the applicant’s travel documents.

  • If the applicant is a minor, the parents/legal guardians have to sign the form.

  • Proof of financial support to cover the period of stay in South Africa.

  • Proof of accommodation.

  • Copy of return flight ticket.

  • A letter from the applicant’s employer stating the position held and that leave was granted.

Foreigners can leave the country with up to 15 Kruger coins if there is proof it was purchased with foreign currency.
 
Citizens of Andorra, Argentina, Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Malta, Portugal, Russia, Spain, the United Kingdom, etc can gain entry visa-free for a stay of 90 days. Nationals of Angola, Antigua, and Barbuda, Cape Verde, Costa Rica, Cyprus, Hungary, Jordan, Poland, South Korea, Thailand, etc do not need a visa for stays of 30 days or less.
