Basic Travel Requirements for Laotians visiting South Korea

Travelers are required to fulfill the following requirements in order to apply for a South Korean Visa.

  • A complete South Korea visa application form. 
  • Recently taken passport photos not older than six months. 
  • A passport with six months validity remaining and at least two blank visa pages for visa stamps. 
  • Flight reservations and return ticket. 
  • A hotel reservation receipt to show proof of accommodation while in South Korea. 
  • A cover letter showing your details and the details of the people traveling with. 
  • Employed applicants are expected to show a letter from their employer stating that a leave of absence has been granted and that you will return to your current job after your trip.
  • The letter should contain the purpose and duration of your trip. 
  • Self-employed applicants are to show a copy of their business license, company bank statement of the last six months and income tax revenue. 
  • As a retired applicant you are required to submit proof of your retirement funds.

South Korea Tourist Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • South Korean tourist visa is a visa issued to foreigners visiting South Korea for leisure, leave, sightseeing and tour. 
  • Laotians who intend to visit South Korea for tourism can apply for a South Korean tourist visa. 
  • A passport valid for six months with blank visa pages for stamps. 
  • A completed visa application form. 
  • A recently taken passport photograph not longer than six months, 3.4 x 4.5cm in size. 
  • Visa consular fee. 
  • Proof of onward/return ticket. 
  • Proof of accommodation in South Korea. 
  • A letter from your invitee in South Korea stating he/she is responsible for your long guide tour. 
  • An invitation letter from a citizen of Korea inviting you over. The letter should contain the inviter address of residence, a copy of his passport and a confirmation of financial solvency. 
  • A bank statement not more than three months to show proof of financial status in Korea.

  • South Korean business visa is a visa issued to foreigners traveling to South Korea to sign business deals or business meetings.
  • A complete South Korean business visa application form. 
  • A passport with six months validity and blank visa pages for visa stamp. 
  • An invitation letter from the Korean company. 
  • An invitation letter to a business meeting or to participate in a related event. 
  • A bank statement showing proof of sufficient funds to cover the period of stay in South Korea. 
  • Proof of accommodation. 
  • Proof of return/onward ticket. 
  • A certificate showing the education, profession and qualification of the applicant. 
  • A letter from your employer stating your current position, your purpose of visit to South Korea and your entry and exit dates. 

South Korea Student Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • The South Korean student visa is issued to foreigners visiting Korean for training, studies or an internship. 
  • Laotians who intend to visit South Korea for educational purposes can apply for the South Korean student visa. 
  • A complete Korean student visa application form filled in English or Korea is required. 
  • A valid passport with blank visa pages for visa stamps. 
  • Two recently taken identical colored passport. 
  •  The South Korean student visa has three sub-types and they include:
    • C-3 Visa: A C-3 visa is usually issued to applicants who wish to study for more than three months. It is usually called a Tourist visa. 
    • D-2 Visa: A D-2 visa is a long term student visa issued to applicants who intend to study in a Korean school, college or university. 
    • D-4 Visa: A D-4 visa is a short-term student visa which must be obtained by applicants who intend to visit Korea for a short-term language or internship. The D-4 visa allows applicants to stay in Korea for the entire period of study.  
  • Admission letter from an accredited institution in South-Korea. 
  • Proof of accommodation while in Korea. 
  • Proof of sufficient funds to cover study year in Korea. 
  • Sponsored applicants are required to show the recent bank statement of their sponsorer to show proof of financial status.
  • Confirmation of tuition fees. 
  • Proof of medical insurance. 
  • Notarized copy of certificate or diploma of earlier education background.
