Basic Travel Requirements for Laotians visiting Switzerland

Travelers are required to fulfill the following requirements in order to apply for a Swiss Visa.


  • A completed and signed Switzerland visa application form. 
  • A passport valid for at least three months after your return date from the country and must have at least two blank pages. 
  • Two recently taken passport photographs taken against a light background. 
  • A copy of your return ticket reservation. 
  • Travel medical insurance up to 30,000 € to cover your stay in Switzerland and other Schengen area you intend to visit. 
  • A cover letter stating your purpose of visit to Switzerland. 
  • Flight itinerary reservation. This should contain the entry and exit dates and your flight number. 
  • Proof of accommodation or hotel reservation for your entire duration of stay in the country. 
  • Children birth certificates, marriage certificate or spouse death certificate to show proof of civil status. 
  • Proof of sufficient funds to cover the entire duration of stay in the country. Applicants must own 100 CHF or 92.34€/day.if the applicant is a student, he/ she must attest to owning 30 CHF or 27.70€/day.
  • Employed applicants are required to show a bank statement of the last six months, certificate of income tax returns, employment contracts and No-objection certificate from your employer. 
  • Self-employed applicants are required to submit a copy of their business license, their company's bank statement of the latest six months and income tax returns. 
  • If you are retired, a copy of your pension statement of the latest six months is required.
