Basic Travel Requirements for Lesothos visiting Belgium

Travelers are required to fulfill the following requirements in order to apply for a Belgian Visa.


  • One application form filled out completely and signed by the applicant.
  • One passport photograph that has a light background, is rightly colored and shows full face features. 
  • The photo must be less than three months old and be attached with a paper-clip on the application form.
  • Original Lesotho passport should be valid for at least three (3) months after the date of exit from Belgium.
  • The passport must have 2 full blank pages, one for the visa stamp and an additional spare page.
  • A cover letter that explains the purpose of the visit to Belgium
  • Proof of travel arrangements such as round trip flight/travel reservations or other proof of intended transport and complete itinerary of the visit to Belgium.
  • Travel/medical insurance stating that the applicant is covered in case of a medical emergency and repatriation in Belgium(minimum coverage of € 30.000).
  • Evidence of a hotel booking or rental agreement, or invitation from the Belgian host (family member, friend or organization) with a copy of their passport as proof of accommodation in Belgium.
  • A recent statement of the applicant’s bank accounts for the last three months that show funds of at least 95€ per person per day spent in Belgium.
  • All required documents provided should be legalized and be in either English, French, Dutch, and German.
  • Under-aged applicants are required to provide a copy of their original birth certificate and Notarized travel permission from parents (parental travel consent).
  • Proof of the parent’s regular income (work contract with specified monthly income or a bank statement or business license) is also required.
