Basic Travel Requirements for Lesothos visiting Mexico

Travelers are required to fulfill the following requirements in order to apply for a Mexican Visa.

  • Original Lesotho passport that is valid for at least 6 months beyond stay in Mexico is required.

Mexico Tourist Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • The Mexican tourist visa allows foreigners to visit Mexico for the purpose of sight-seeing, relaxation, and recreation.
  • Applicants passport must be valid for at least three months beyond the intended period of stay.
  • An invitation letter from the host in Mexico is required.
  • The letter should state the relationship with the applicant, duration of stay, the purpose of travel, home address and contact information of the host.
  • The host in Mexico can either be a family member, friend, or tour organization in Mexico.
  • Bank statements of the last 3 months showing that the applicant as sufficient funds for the whole duration of stay in Mexico.
  • A copy of the round-trip or tour ticket is required.
  • Applicants who are under or 18 years old are to provide an original copy of their birth certificate. 
  • A consent letter from both parents should also be provided by the minor if they will be travelling without their parents.
  • A valid document such as proof of family ties or a stable job in Lesotho showing that the applicant has the incentive of returning to Lesotho at the expiry of the tourist visa should be submitted.
  • Evidence that the visa application fee has been paid is required.
  • Applicants are not allowed to take up employment or study during their time in Mexico.
  • Applicants are advised to be vaccinated against yellow fever and malaria before travelling to Mexico.
  • Applicants must not overstay the required stay of the tourist visa or they will be fined or banned from entering Mexico.
  • Applicants seeking extensions for their visas are to apply for it 30 days before the expiry date. 

Mexico Business Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • The Mexico business visa is issued to foreigners visiting Mexico for business purposes.
  • Foreigners with a business visa can attend business meetings and conferences, sign and negotiate business contracts with other business partner or companies while in Mexico.
  • A letter of invitation from the host company in Mexico written on the company’s letterhead should be provided.
  • The letter should state the duration and purpose of the applicant's visit to Mexico.
  • A letter in Spanish from the company in Lesotho indicating that the employer is aware of the business leave to Mexico is required.
  • If the applicant will be financially sponsored by either the sending company or inviting company, it should be clearly stated in the required letters.
  • The certificate of business registration of the inviting company in Mexico is required.
  • Non-Lesotho should provide a copy of the Lesotho residency permit.
  • Minors should ensure the original copy of their birth certificate is submitted with the other required documents. A letter of consent signed by both parents is also required.
  • Applicants are required to leave Mexico at the expiration of the business visa.
  • Bank statements of the last three months are required.

Mexico Student Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • Completely filled and signed Mexico visa application form.
  • Lesotho Passport should be valid for at least 6 months beyond stay in Mexico and should have empty pages for Mexico visa stamp.
  • If the applicant is not a Lesotho citizen, a Lesotho permanent resident card.
  • One passport size picture front view white background (recent and without glasses).
  • Letterhead from the Educational Institution (letter of acceptance) which must be addressed to the Consulate General of Mexico specifying the full name of the person concerned, level, degree and area of study that the applicant intends to carry out, the course name that has been accepted, total cost and period of studies. 
  • This letter must be signed by Official Representative and identification data of the educational institution.
  • Documents proving economic solvency to cover the amount of tuition and expenses for accommodation and meals during your stay in Mexico.
  • Original and copy of the three lasts bank statements or investments which reflect monthly income a minimum balance of $4000.00 US dollars.
  • Original and copy of documents showing that the applicant has a job, pension or academic grant that yields a monthly income of $400.00 US dollars after taxes during the previous three months.
  • All required documents should be translated into Spanish by an official translator.
  • International students are required to show proof of medical/accidental insurance with international coverage. 
  • They can present written confirmation from the insurance company of valid health/accidental insurance with full international coverage.
  • Medical statement showing good health and indicating that the candidate is free from any of illnesses is also required.
  • If the applicant is a minor or below 18 years of age, a notarized authorization from both parents and a copy of a birth certificate showing parents names are required.
  • Candidates need to present the enrollment or letter of acceptance from the institution they plan to attend, determining the level, grade, duration of the planned studies, and field of study.
  • In case an applicant has been granted a scholarship for the study program, he/she needs to show appropriate documentation regarding it.
