  • The government of India provides that visitors from Malawi can visit the country by applying for an electronic visa. The e-visa is for a duration of 90 days and costs about US$80.
  • Foreigners with the e-visa can gain entry to India through 28 airports and 5 seaports.
  • Citizens of Malawi are advised to have applied for the e-visa, at least four days before departure. 
  • Intending visitors are to show a valid passport of a minimum of 6 months beyond the date of India. The passport should have at least two blank pages for visa stamping.
  • Nationals of Malawi with firearms require an Import Permit from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation in India.
  • Malawian are advised to get treated against yellow fever and other common illnesses before travelling to India.
  • The import and export of foreign currencies are unlimited, however, amounts exceeding $ 5,000 or its equivalent would be declared.

Flushing down used toilet papers in India is not advisable, because of the sewerage system in India is not that great,  and the toilet paper may do far more damage than good. It is best to trash them in a bin.
