How to get a Montenegro visa from Malawi

• A tourist visa is issued to foreigners visiting Montenegro for the purpose of leisure and tourism such as sightseeing, recreation, and relaxation.
• Applicants who have been invited to Montenegro by their friend or relative with permanent residence can apply for the tourist visa.
• An applicant under the age of 18 years must provide the original copy of the birth certificate and a notarized consent signed by both the parents should be provided.
• Applicants are not allowed to take up employment while they are in Malawi.
• Receipt of the non-refundable visa application fee is required.
• Applicants that are not citizens of Malawi applying for the visa should provide a copy of their Malawi residence permit. This permit should be valid for at least three months from the intended period of exiting the country.
• A letter of invitation from the host in Montenegro should be provided. The letter should contain the valid home address and telephone number of the host.
• The host in Montenegro could either be a family member, friend or tour organization in Montenegro.
• Applicants are to provide a certificate of medical insurance that covers the duration of stay.
• Air ticket reservations, including return flight, should be submitted by the applicant.
• Foreigners should have proof of the incentive of returning to their country at the expiry of their visas.
• Proof of hotel reservation and accommodation that covers the applicant's duration of stay.
• Receipt of paid visa application fee payment should be submitted by applicants.

• Original Malawi passport that is valid for at least 6 months beyond stay in Montenegro.
• The passport must have at least one blank page for the Montenegro visa stamp.
• Completely filled and signed the Montenegro visa application form.
• One recent passport photograph with a white background displaying a neutral background
• Confirmed travel itinerary showing entry and exit date.
• Bank statement showing proof of financial means.
• Hotel reservation as proof of accommodation in Montenegro.
• Invitation letter from the Montenegro company applicant stating details of business and address of the company, accompanied by the dates of the visit.
• The letter of invitation must also state the type of business to be conducted or carried out in Montenegro.
• Letter from the applicant’s employer in Malawi, stating that the applicant is of good moral and that the employer allows the applicant to leave throughout the required period.
• The letter of invitation must indicate if the host company is covering the financial expenses of the applicant.

Montenegro has no currency of its own. From 1996 the Deutsche Mark was the de facto currency in all private and banking transactions and it was formally adopted as Montenegro's currency in November 1999. The mark was replaced by the euro in 2002 without any objections from the European Central Bank (ECB).
