Travelers are required to fulfill the following requirements in order to apply for a German Visa.

  • A valid passport/travel ID
  • Proof of financial resources to support you during your stay

Germany Tourist Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • This is the type of visa issued to persons intending to visit Germany for tourism purposes.
  • You can also visit family and friends while on this visa.
  •  During the visa application, you will need to provide proof of sufficient funds to last the duration of your stay.
  • This proof could be in the form of a recent bank statement or a written confirmation that your host in Germany is going to cater to all your expenses while in the country.
  • The passport you are using must have at least two blank pages.
  • You will need to submit an invitation letter from your host or sponsor in Germany.
  • This letter should clearly state the address and contact details of the host, as well as your relationship with them.
  • You are advised to exit the country before your visa expires.
  • This visa does not serve study purposes. You cannot be enrolled in any of the institutions of learning in the country.
  • Proof of flight reservation to Germany.
  • Travel insurance. You should submit a confirmation letter from your health insurance stating coverage for emergency medical treatment with a minimum of €30,000.


Germany Business Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • This is a type of visa issued to Malians traveling to Germany for business purposes.
  • You will need to provide an invitation letter from the German company you will be visiting.
  • This letter will also contain their detailed address, accompanied by the dates of your trip.
  • If are employed, you will have to present a certificate from your employer stating or allowing your business travel.
  • Your bank statement from the last 6 months is needed.
  • Self-employed people will submit proof of business registration.
  • You cannot be gainfully employed while you are in the country with this visa.
  • Your passport must not be older than 10 years while applying for this visa and it must be valid for at least 3 months longer than the intended period of stay.
  • Invitation letters from the employer stating the individual's length of a business trip, employment duration, etc.
  • proof of hotel reservations and airline reservations.
  • Health insurance with a minimum coverage of at least 30,000 EUR in case of an accident or illness and repatriation in case of death.
  • Proof of civil status: Marriage certificate, birth certificate of children, death certificate of spouse, if applicable.  
  • A detailed schedule of your business meetings (ONLY for stays over 30 days).

Germany Student Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • This is the type of visa issued to those traveling to Germany for the purpose of the study.
  • You are to submit the application for a German student visa at the German embassy or consulate, or any other intermediate application agencies in your country.
  • The German student visa may take up to 2-3 months to be issued.
  • Unlike the visit visa, the student visa offers a longer duration.
  • The decision about your application is based on the information and the supporting documents you provide.
  • These documents have to be sent as originals, accompanied by two photocopies of each.
  • Any person applying for this visa must be ready to submit proof of admission into a study program in a recognized German educational institution.
  • You are to also submit a letter of commitment by a local resident (a person living in Germany), showing they’ll be covering your accommodation and/or other living costs while you’ll be there.
  • Student health insurance with a minimum coverage of 30,000 covering any medical emergency for the duration of their stay.

Germany Work Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • If you’re planning on taking a job in Germany, you need to get a work visa first.
  • Before initiating the visa application process, you must have gotten into a job in the country.
  • A letter from your employer in the country confirming that you have been offered a job is required.
  • The address of the company, as well as your job description, should be clearly stated in the letter.
  • Your employer should provide proof that there was no German available to take a job before you were offered this job.
  • Receipt of paid visa application fee should be provided.
  • Proof that you have the incentive of returning to Mali is also needed.
  • You are expected to abide by all the rules guiding your visa application.
  • Be sure to provide these FOUR documents during your visa application process:
  • A personal covering letter explaining the exact purpose and intended duration of your stay.
  • Proof of a clean criminal record.
  • Proof of academic qualifications. Diplomas, certificates, mark-sheets, etc., or anything similar that proves your qualifications.
  • An employment contract / binding job offer with details of gross annual salary and a detailed description of the employment in Germany.
