Basic Travel Requirements for Mauritanians visiting Croatia
Travelers are required to fulfill the following requirements in order to apply for a Croatian Visa.
- Visa application form filled and signed by the applicant. Applicants can also fill out the application form online.
- Passport has an expiry date that exceeds the expiry date of the requested visa by at least three months. The passport must have been issued within the last 10 years and have a minimum of two blank pages.
- Copy of all previously used visas either valid or expired should be made available.
- One 35x45mm passport-sized photograph printed on a normal photographic paper. The passport must be in color and must be taken against a light background.
- Valid travel health insurance which remains valid for the duration of the applicant’s stay in Croatia. The passport must have a minimum coverage of €30,000 for health reasons, urgent medical assistance, and repatriation.
- Documents which prove that the applicant has sufficient funds to support his/her stay in Croatia and to return to his/her country of residence. It is estimated at €70 per day.
- Documents that support the applicant’s means of subsistence may include bank account statements and payslips from the past three months before applying for the visa.
- Hotel accommodation, private or other accommodation for the duration of your stay in Croatia.

Croatia Tourist Visa Eligibility & Requirements

Croatia Business Visa Eligibility & Requirements
- The Croatian business visa issued to foreigners who are traveling to the country to conduct business activities.
- Foreigners in Croatia can attend trade fairs, business conferences, congresses as far as they have an official invitation to the fair, congress or conference.
- A Letter of Guarantee from the guarantor in original is required. The guarantor must enclose proof of solvency (BON 1 or BON 2) forms with the letter of guarantee. The photocopy of the letter guarantee is issued to the visa applicant if the original has been deposited at the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs in Croatia.
- Mauritanian citizens who is Croatian business visa will be given a Letter of Guarantee which they are to present as a proof of purpose of their stay, should it be requested by the Croatian border control authority.
- If the Letter of Guarantee indicates that the guarantor/host will take full responsibility for the applicant’s finances in Croatia, the applicant may be exempted from providing proof of sufficient financial means.
- If you are employed in Mauritania, employment's evidence should be provided.
- Mauritanian Retirees should ensure they have proof of their pension.
- Foreigners in Croatia on this short-term visa are prohibited from being gainfully employed during their time in the country.
- The provision of reservation of return travel ticket which shows that the foreigner has the intention of returning to his/her country.
- The passport photograph of visa applicants must show the applicant’s face clearly without facial expression, with his/her eyes open, and mouth closed and the passport photograph must be snapped on a white background.
- The passport photograph must also show the full face taken straight forward 30-36mm from point of the chin to the head of hair.
- Mauritanians are to apply for a Croatian visa at the neighboring countries that Croatia has either embassy or consulate as Croatia currently does not maintain either of the Diplomatic mission in Croatia.
- If any of the specifications of the passport photograph is not met, your application may be deemed incomplete which sometimes, might be the reason for visa delay or refusal.
Croatia Official Visa Eligibility & Requirements
- This visa is issued to Mauritanian nationals who are visiting Croatia for official purposes.
- A note verbal from the government of Mauritania which states the applicant’s name and status is required. The note verbal should also state the duration of the applicant’s visit.
- Members of official delegations who have been invited to participate in meetings, consultations, negotiations or exchange programs are expected to provide a letter issued by the organizer confirming that the applicant is a member of the official delegate traveling to
- Applicants of the Official Visa for Croatia are required to present a valid means of identification during the visa application process.
- Mauritanians visiting Croatia on this visa are not allowed to take up paid or unpaid employment during their time in the country.
- The fee paid for the visa application cannot be refunded once your application has been accepted by the Embassy.
- Issuance of a visa is not a guarantee that you will be allowed entry into the country.
- The police may require you to present all relevant document on every border crossing.
- If your visa application has been rejected, you will be duly notified. A visa refusal/revocation form stating the reason for the refusal will be delivered to the applicant.
- You are warned to desist from the act of falsifying any of the documents to be submitted. You may be subject to criminal prosecution if you are caught.
- The processing time for this visa is usually within 15 days.

Croatia Transit Visa Eligibility & Requirements
- This visa is issued to foreigners who have the intention of transiting through Croatia to their destination country.
- The Croatian tourist visa is valid for 24hours.
- Visa issued by a third country which indicates that proof of entry into the country is required.
- Travel ticket which indicates that the applicant will indeed gain entry into a third country is required.
- You are not allowed to take up any form of work during your time in the country.
- Applicants of this visa who are not citizens of Mauritania are not required to provide a copy of their valid Mauritanian residence permit.
- Minors traveling without a parent or legal guardian must carry a notarized consent which carries the personal information of their parent or legal guardian.
- The parent or legal guardian must also sign this consent.
- If your visa application is rejected, you will be sent a visa refusal or revocation form indicating the reason for the refusal of your visa.
- After you have received the refusal or revocation form, you may file a complaint against the decision to refuse your visa application within 15 days of receiving the visa application.
- The complaint must be filed in Croatian and you are required to pay a fee of €26 or $35.
- Submitting all the required document during a visa application does not automatically mean that you will be issued this visa.
