Application requirements
Documents Mauritian applicants need to provide.
- An original Mauritian passport with 6 months validity and at least two blank pages
- Visa application form duly filled electronically with photo affixed
- Two Passport-size photographs (45 x 35 mm) not larger than 300kb taken in white background.
- A valid email address
- There should be no blank space in the application form, all boxes must be filled
- The signature on the form must appear as it does in the passport
- Application submission time: 9am-11am
Application delivery time: 3pm-4:30pm (from the counter)
- The mode of payment should be cash paid to SBM Bank (Mauritius) Ltd. (A/C no. 50300000128045)
- Each Visa type has single entry, double entry and multiple entry and the prices are constant across each visa type.
- You can extend your visa and your stay in Bangladesh by applying to the Department of Immigration and Authority. Mention the existing visa you have and state the reason why you want to extend it.

Tourist visa
- The Bangladesh tourist visa is issued to those who intend to visit Bangladesh for tourism or leisure.
- A copy of the confirmed air ticket and hotel booking is usually required.
- Bangladesh tourist visa is categorized into three (3), based on the number of entries allowed:
- Single Entry — allows one entry
- Double Entry — allows two entries
- Multiple Entry — allows multiple entries
- In summary, the single-entry visa allows you to enter Bangladesh once, the double-entry twice, while the multiple-entry visa allows you to leave and re-enter Bangladesh multiple times during its validity.
- The duration of stay (each visit) normally is 90 days .
- Overstaying your visa is an offense.
Business visa
- Business visa is issued to those who intend to go to Bangladesh for commercial and trade purposes.
- This visa type is usually valid for 6 months and is extendable.
- In the case that a longer time is needed, make it clear during your application, stating the exact reason you will be needing more time. If your reason is valid enough, your request will be granted and you will get more time.
- Just like the tourist visa, the Business visa can be issued for single-entry, double-entry or multiple-entry.
- Original and photocopy of business registration certificate and tax clearance are required during the visa application.
- One letter from the company concerned in Bangladesh and another from the company concerned in Mauritius are required.
- Fees for the Bangladesh business visa varies depending on the number of entry.
Official visa
- A diplomatic visa is also known as an official visa
- It is issued to foreign officials and their dependent family members.
- A note verbale (an unsigned diplomatic communication in a 3rd person format) is required.
- The note verbale can be from the concerned Government Office /Consulate/ Related Organization
- It is valid for 3 months and is a multiple entry visa type.
- The fees are the same with the Business and Tourist visa.
