Netherlands Tourist Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • The Netherlands tourist visa is issued to Myanmars traveling to the Netherlands for tourism and visitation purposes.
  • The Netherlands is a Schengen country, so you can also apply for a Schengen visa.
  • This visa is valid for 90 days and cannot be extended. Except under emergencies.
  • The currency restriction for entry into and exit out of the Netherlands is 10,000 Euros.
  • Visitors are required to provide a copy of their return-ticket reservation. However, it is not recommended to purchase the ticket before obtaining the visa.
  • Travel medical insurance confirmation of minimum 30,000 € coverage within the Netherlands and the entire Schengen area must be provided.
  • A cover letter stating the purpose of a visit to the Netherlands and itinerary must be provided by the applicant.
  • Visitors are required to provide a flight itinerary reservation with dates and flight numbers specifying entry and exit from the Netherlands.
  • Proof of accommodation for the whole duration of the intended stay in the Netherlands must be provided.
  • Proof of civil status (marriage certificate, birth certificate of children, death certificate of spouse, ration card if applicable) must be provided.
  • Visitors must provide proof of sufficient financial means for the period of stay in the Netherlands.
  • If you have a host in the Netherlands, you are required to present a letter of invitation from your host. Your host’s home address, telephone number and other means of contact (if any) should be written in detail in the letter.

Netherlands Business Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • The Netherlands business visa enables Myanmars to visit the Netherlands for business purposes.
  • With the Netherlands business visa you can meet up with business partners to negotiate and sign contracts.
  • You can also attend trade fairs, conferences and business summits while you are in the country.
  • An invitation letter from the company you will be visiting in the Netherlands should be provided. The address of the company and the dates of your visit should be stated in the letter.
  • If the company you are meeting with in the Netherlands will be responsible for your expenses while you are in the country, this should be stated in the letter.
  • A letter from your employer in Myanmar stating awareness and allowance of your business travel is important.
  • If the applicant of this visa has had previous business dealings with the company they are visiting, proof of this must be provided.
  • Holders of the Netherlands business visa also cannot seek public funds.
  • The Netherlands Business visa is a multiple-entry visa, valid from your exact arrival date for a maximum of 90 days within a period of 180 days.
  • Myanmars are expected to exit the country at the expiration of their visa.
  • Before this visa is issued, it must have been proven that the applicant does not pose a threat to public order, public health, domestic security or international relations by providing proof of a clean criminal record.

Netherlands Tourist Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • The Netherlands student visa is for Myanmars students who have the intention of studying in a school in the Netherlands.
  • Applicants of this visa should apply for a provisional residence visa also known as the MVV visa. Afterwards, the host institution will then apply for a full residence permit on the traveler's behalf.
  • To apply for an MVV visa you will need a valid passport and at least one passport page photocopy.
  • Proof that you are able to support yourself financially is required. It is expected that you have enough money to spend at least 850 euros per month.
  • Before applicants can initiate the visa application process, they must have been accepted into one of the recognized institutions of learning in the Netherlands.
  • This institution will need to provide you with a letter of admission. This is proof that you can attend lectures and write exams at the school.
  • Certificates and transcripts of the schools you previously attended is required.
  • Foreign students are allowed to work part-time as long as it does not interfere with their studies.
  • An extension to this visa can be granted to cover the full duration of your program.
  • Student visa applicants are required to undergo a medical test for tuberculosis.
  • If you are a minor traveling without your parent, a letter of consent signed by both parents should be provided. Also, an unabridged original copy of your birth certificate is required.

Netherlands Medical Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • The Netherlands medical visa permits Myanmars to visit the Netherlands for medical treatment.
  • Applicants coming to Netherlands for medical treatment must apply for a residence permit. 
  • A full medical diagnosis from your local doctor in Myanmar is required. It should be accompanied by a document stating why the ailment is best treated in the Netherlands.
  • The hospital or doctor in the Netherlands will also need to send a medical attestation confirming the date of appointment as well as their knowledge of your medical situation.
  • A letter to the Medical Advice Bureau in the Netherlands is needed. This letter must include the following:
    • The nature of the illness.
    • Why treatment elsewhere will be inappropriate.
    • If you are capable of financing the treatment.
  • If you are employed, a letter from your employer is required. Your employer should state in the letter that he is aware of your leave. Your position and how long you have been employed in the company should be clearly stated.
  • The applicant must be able to demonstrate they have sufficient funds cover their entire medical expenses while in the Netherlands.
  • Minors must ensure they possess the original copy of their birth certificate. If they are traveling alone or with one of their parents, a document of consent which is signed by both parents of the minor should be provided.
  • Travelers on a medical visa are not allowed to work while they are in the country.
  • You are expected to leave the country at the end of your treatment.
  • Visa holders are not allowed to take up permanent residence in the country, but temporary residence is allowed.
  • The applicant has to sign a medical declaration. By signing this declaration, the applicant consents to being involved in any medical research, if necessary.
