Application requirements

Documents Namibian applicants need to provide.

  • Passport must be valid for at least 6 months and two blank pages to add visa, must have the signature of passport holder (adding your old passport if you have).
  • 2 portraits with the size of 4.5×4.5 (Taken within 6 months, and white background).
  • Visa application form
  • Duly completed visa application form signed by the applicant.
  • Two recent passport-sized photographs with a white background. The photo should follow the specification for a visa application.
  • Original copy of bank statement from the past three months prior to the period of visa application. This is proof of a steady and continuous flow of funds.

Student visa
  • Proof of admission from the school you are to attend in Japan.
  • A passport photograph that was not taken more than six months before your visa application.
  • A certificate of eligibility (COE) issued by the regional immigration authority in Japan.
  • Certificates showing academic accomplishments.
  • A recent bank statement: This should prove your ability to pay for your living expenses for at least your first year in Japan. It is recommended that you have up to ¥2,000,000 in your bank account. If you have a constant source of income, include documents supporting the fact.
  • A receipt that shows that you have paid for your tuition or accommodation.
  • If your parent or a sponsor will be paying for your education in Japan, you will need their recent bank account statement.

Medical visa
  • Visa for Medical Stay is a visa issued to foreign patients wishing to visit Japan for medical purposes including full medical check-ups. The visa is issued to their accompanying persons as well if necessary and as needed.
  • Applicable medical services include not only medical treatment at a medical institution but a variety of services ranging from full medical check-ups and medical examinations to recuperation such as hot springs recuperation.
  • Multiple visas may be issued to foreign patients, if necessary and as needed.
  • A multiple visa may be issued only when each visit to Japan is for a period of 90 days or less. In order to apply for a multiple visa, foreign patients are required to present a Medical Treatment Plan from a physician in Japan, which may be obtained through a guarantor.
  • Not only family members but also non-family members of foreign patients are permitted to accompany them, if necessary and as needed.
  • Accompanying persons may be issued the same visa as foreign patients, if necessary and as needed. Accompanying persons are to visit Japan to take personal care of foreign patients and are not allowed to engage in income-generating businesses or activities to receive remuneration.
