Application requirements

Documents Namibian applicants need to provide.

  • A Namibian passport valid for at least 6 months from the intended arrival date and must have 2 blank pages for visa stamp.
  • Duly completed and signed visa application form.
  • A copy of your round trip airline tickets
  • Three (3) identical photographs must be submitted, They should be 40mm x 40mm in Width and Height.

  • A police report showing the traveller does not have a criminal record.

Visa type details

Tourist visa

  • This visa is issued to foreigners who intend visiting Mali for recreation, relaxation, and sightseeing.
  • Applicants of this visa may also want to visit their friends and relatives residing in the country.
  • If you are visiting a friend or relative in the country, a letter of invitation from your host is required. The letter should include the home address, telephone number, and valid means of identification of the host.
  • Namibians cannot be enrolled in any of the institutions of learning in the country
  • During your time in the country, you can attend festivals and events.
  • A letter from your employer approving your leave and stating continuing employment on return from the trip.
  • A copy of your Namibian stay permit is required.
  • If you are under the age of 18, you are required to submit the original copy of your birth certificate. If you will be travelling with one or none of your parents, a notarized consent signed by both your parents should be submitted.
  • Proof of the incentive of returning to your country at the expiration of your visa.
  • A receipt that indicates that payment of visa application fee has been made.
  • Namibians cannot take up employment whilst in the country.
  • Applicants should obey the rules guiding this visa.

Business visa

  • Namibians who intend visiting mali for various business purposes are the eligible applicants of the Business Visa.
  • Foreigners in mali on the Business Visa are allowed to sign and negotiate business contracts with their partners.
  • During your time in mali, foreigners are permitted to attend business summits, trade fairs, and conferences.
  • If one of the activities you plan to engage in during your time in mali is to attend conferences, you are advised to register for the conference before travelling to mali.
  • Employed applicants should provide a letter from their employer confirming awareness and allowance of business leave. The job position of the applicant, as well as, the term of employment should be clearly stated in the letter.
  • An official letter of invitation from the host company in mali written on the company’s letterhead is required. This invitation letter must be approved by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in mali. The letter should state the job position of the applicant and also the duration and the purpose of the visit.
  • Certificate of Business Registration of the host company should be provided.
  • The business letter must state whether the applicant’s employer or the host company in mali will take up the responsibility of the applicant’s finances.

Transit visa

  • Travelling from Namibia to mali and from Mali back to Namibia cannot be regarded as transit.
