- The Portuguese medical visa is for applicants who wish to visit Portugal for medical treatment.
- Persons who wish to accompany sick applicants for their treatments are also eligible applicants for this visa.
- Portugal has a state-funded universal healthcare system offered to all.
- A medical diagnosis from your local doctor in Niger is to he provided.
- The diagnosis should be accompanied by a document stating why the ailment is best treated in Portugal and not in Niger.

Portugal Student Visa Eligibility & Requirements
- The Portuguese student visa is for students who have the intention of studying in any school in Portugal.
- Applicant must have been offered admission into one of the institutions of learning in Portugal before applying for this visa.
- An extension of this visa can be granted to cover the duration of the applicant's study program in the country.
- Once a student applies for a long-stay student visa, a residence permit will need to be applied for upon arriving in Portugal from the Portuguese Immigration and Borders Service (SEF).
- An enrollment certificate of the courses to be attended must be provided.
- The duration of the study and the study type should be stated in the letter.
- Proof of confirmed accommodation for the applicant's duration of stay is to be provided.
- Admission letter from the institution you have been accepted into must be submitted.

- This visa is for applicants who wish to travel to Portugal for tourism and sightseeing purposes.
- Persons who wish to visit friends and relatives in the country are also eligible for this visa.
- There are two types of tourist visas: Schengen C-type visa and national D-type visa.
