Travelers are required to fulfill the following requirements in order to apply for a Salvadoran Visa.

  • Original Nigerian passport that is valid for at least 6 months from intended departure from El Salvador.
  • A copy of your roundtrip flight reservation or confirmed itinerary.
  • Proof of private or hotel accommodation for the duration of stay.

El Salvador is a small country located in Central America. The country is very popular for its beaches, surf spots, mild tropical climate, and mountainous landscape. The country has more than 2,000 archeological sites and each stand out for their importance. Sand beaches in El Salvador allow tourists to engage in activities such as fishing, surfing, or sunbathing. The country also boasts sublime national parks where tourists can go to see various species of birds and other animals.
 
The tourism industry in El Salvador is a huge contributor to the economy of the country. Statistics showed in 2014 that a total of 1,394,000 international tourists visited El Salvador. This resulted in the industry contributing $855.5 million to the country’s GDP and provided over 80,000 jobs. It has been estimated that this number is set to further increase in the years to come.
 
Avoid the possession, use, and trafficking of illegal drugs during your time in the country. Lengthy prison sentences will be handed out to anyone caught for any drug-related offense. Moving around with unlicensed firearms will lead to your arrest and time in jail.

El Salvador Tourist Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • Nigerians who intend to travel to El Salvador for sightseeing, vacation, tourism and other leisure activities are eligible to apply for the tourist visa.
  • The tourist visa also permits its holder to visit friends or relatives residing in El Salvador.
  • The Nigerian passport used for the visa application must have at least 2 blank pages and must be valid for at least 6 months from your departure date from El Salvador.
  • You are required to fully complete and sign the visa application form before submitting. You should note that incomplete application forms may not be processed or delay processing.
  • To show that you have the financial means to cater to all your needs while in El Salvador, you are required to provide your most recent bank account statements to prove this.
  • You must provide a copy of your roundtrip flight ticket or onward ticket to show that you intend to leave El Salvador once your visa expires.
  • You must also provide proof of your hotel reservation for the entire duration of your stay in El Salvador, with the name and contact details of the hotel clearly showing.
  • The tourist visa also permits you to attend social or cultural events or festivals in El Salvador but does NOT permit you to accept payment for any services rendered while in the country.
  • Minors must present their original birth certificate and a letter of consent to travel to El Salvador signed by their parents or guardians if they are travelling alone, with someone other than their parents/guardians or with one parent.
  • All visitors must obtain a tourist card upon arrival in El Salvador. The tourist card costs US$10.
  • You must also provide proof of payment of the visa fee.

El Salvador Business Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • The business visa is issued to foreign nationals who intend to travel to El Salvador for business, professional or commercial purposes.
  • You are required to completely fill the visa application form and sign it before submission. 2 passport-size photographs taken with a light background should also be submitted with the visa application form.
  • You are required to provide a letter of invitation from the partner company in El Salvador stating the nature of your business in the country and how long you intend to stay.
  • As proof of your employment, you must provide the original copy of your employment contract, signed by both you and your employer and copies of your recent payslips as well as a leave letter stating awareness of your travel and when you are expected to resume back to work.
  • A criminal record certificate issued by the appropriate authority in your country of residence must be submitted.
  • A business letter typed on your company letterhead and signed by an authorised officer in your company must also be submitted. The letter should state your name, role in the company and the purpose of your travel to El Salvador as well as a guarantee that the company will take care of all your travel expenses while you are in El Salvador.
  • Any proof of previous trade relations between your company and the partner company (such as bills of lading, customs clearance or such documents) should be presented.
  • You should also provide proof of a hotel reservation for the entire duration of your stay in the country.
  • All visitors must obtain a tourist card upon arrival in El Salvador. The tourist card costs US$10.
  • You are required to provide proof of payment of the visa fee.
