Application requirements

Documents Pakistani applicants need to provide.

  • A valid passport with at least 3 months' validity before the return date is required.
  • The passport should have at least two blank pages for France visa stamp.
  • Two recent passport photographs with a light background that follows the passport format of a France visa.
  • A copy of the return ticket showing that the applicant has intentions of returning to Pakistan.
  • Bank statement dating back at least 3 months showing that the applicant has sufficient funds for the duration of stay in France.
  • Applicants should ensure they have a copy of the correctly filled and signed visa application form.
  • Travel/medical insurances required for emergency purposes in France.
  • Proof of accommodation or hotel reservation in France.
  • A letter of invitation from the sponsor (friend, family member, tour organization or business company in France) is required.
  • For minors, a signed consent letter by parent or legal guardians and copy of the original birth certificate is to be provided.
  • Valid identification of parents such as national identity card or copy of the parent's passport is required.

Visa type details

Tourist visa

  • The France tourist visa is issued to foreigners who have the intention of exploring the tourist attractions in France.
  • The tourist visa also gives permission to foreigners to visit friends or family members in France.
  • A valid passport with at least six months of validity from the date of arrival in France is required.
  • Two recent 2 x 2 passport-sized photographs taken against a white background are required.
  • An entry stamp to prove that the applicant is entering the country legally is required.
  • The visa stamp should be affixed on the blank pages in the original Pakistan passport.
  • Recent bank statements showing proof of sufficient funds for the entire duration of stay.
  • Proof of medical insurance to cover the entire duration of stay should be submitted.
  • Applicant travelling with a tourist organization should provide the proof certificate of registration with the tourism company or invitation letter from a tour organization.
  • Proof of accommodation or hotel reservation is mandatory.
  • Minors (under 18) travelling alone, with only one parent, or with a third party, must present a copy of their birth certificate and written, notarized authorization from the absent parent(s) or legal guardian.
  • Applicants must not overstay visa duration in France.
  • Holders of a tourist visa are not required to work or study in France or will be deported.

Business visa

  • The business visa is issued to foreigners traveling to France for business purposes such as attending a business meeting, conferences, negotiating and signing contracts.
  • The applicant should provide proof of company registration of the company in France by providing a certificate of registration issued by the Government of France.
  • A cover letter from the applicant's employer in Pakistan stating the awareness of the applicant's trip, duration and reason for travel to France are required.
  • The business cover letter should also indicate that the applicant is of good conduct.
  • The cover letter should clearly state who will be financially responsible for the applicant during the stay in France and must be signed by a senior employee in the company in Pakistan.
  • The invitation letter must be approved by the chamber of commerce in France must be provided.
  • Proof of business dealings by both companies should be provided.
  • Income tax for the last three months must be provided.
  • Confirmation of return ticket must be provided, this is to show that the applicant has the intention of returning back to Pakistan.
  • Applicant's travel itinerary showing travel details and dates of entry and exit from France is required.

Medical visa

  • A Letter of invitation from the medical institution stating the readiness to treat the patient on a specific date of arrival.
  • Payment receipt of medical fees from the French Hospital or A letter affirming the costs of the patient’s treatment is already covered.
  • Detailed information on medical treatment fee issued by the medical institution’s financial department (for uncovered medical treatment)
  • An affirmation certificate to assure the patient’s capacity to cope with the extra medical costs (when expecting unforeseen costs of medical treatment to happen)
  • Verbal note from the Embassy of the home country of the applicant in France, or, Verbal Note from the Ministry of Health of the home country
  • Birth Certificate (for a minor applicant) – The certificate must be provided in original accompanied with a copy
  • Letter of Consent from the Other Parent (for a minor applicant travelling with one parent) – A formal document from a parent, translated in a French language and notarized, stating he/she has no objection about his child travelling
  • Medical report from a doctor In charge of treatment in Pakistan.
  • Confirmed hotel reservation or confirmed accommodation in the medical clinic (for accompanying persons of the applicant).
  • A certificate from the national medical authority for the incapacity of the country to offer the appropriate medical treatment for the applicant’s condition.
  • Registration Certificate of the patient in the national list for organs and cornea transplant issued by the medical and surgical team performing the transplant (In case of transplant).

Student visa

  • An official acceptance letter onto an accredited program at a French institution.
  • The acceptance letter should be on officially headed paper, featuring your full details, the details of your program of study and the start and end dates of study.
  • Proof of sufficient funds of €615 per month, which can be shown with a bank statement, a guarantor’s letter or a notice of funding from a loan, scholarship or grant.
  • Ticket or reservation showing the date of departure, but can be a handwritten statement of intent, including intended departure dates.
  • Proof of medical insurance (minimum cover €30,000).
  • Proof of accommodation.
  • Proof of proficiency in French, if you are studying a French-language course.
