Kiribati is known for its lagoons and wonderful white sand beaches that offer tourists a remote setting for fishing, diving, yachting, and bird-watching. This makes Kiribati a prime holiday destination. Tourists visit the Phoenix Islands which is in South Tarawa. All visitors are not allowed to enter Kiribati with more than 5000 Australian Dollars. Importation of firearms, ammunition, explosives, counterfeit money, knives and pornography is strictly prohibited. 
 
All nationals of European member states excluding Ireland and the United Kingdom may enter Kiribati visa-free for 90 days within a 180-day period.
