Basic Travel Requirements for Filipinos visiting Solomon Islands

Travelers are required to fulfill the following requirements in order to apply for a Solomon Islander Visa.


  • A completed visa application form for the Solomon Islands
  • Two passports photograph size (50mm x 50mm) with a white background.
  • Original Philippine passport or travel document with at least 6 months validity on the date of travel and have at least 2 visa pages clear of any markings.
  • Sufficient funds to finance travel
  • Provide the pages of your current passport showing your photo, personal details, and passport issue and expiry dates, it must be valid for six months beyond the expiry date of the visa.
  • Two photocopies of the first and last page of the Philippine passport.
  • Hotel reservation(s)/accommodation for the duration of your visit.
  • Flight reservations(s) for the country of your visit and return ticket.
  • Applicant's most recent monthly bank statement. Personal bank statement of the last three months in original with sufficient funds.

Facts about Solomon Islands


The Solomon Islands is a sovereign state consisting of six major islands and over 900 smaller islands. The country is well known for its islands, beach resorts, and beautiful scenery. Scuba-diving destinations are accessible in almost all parts of the country. The gigantic Marovo Lagoon and Iron Bottom Sound are two of the more popular destinations for scuba-diving. At the bottom of these two destinations, dozens of sunken warships from World War II can be found. Other activities to be engaged in while in the country include; surfing waves, snorkeling pristine reefs or kayaking across the lagoon. The best part about visiting the Solomon Islands is that it is usually not overcrowded.
 
The number of visitors received by the Solomon Islands in the year 2017 was more than 21,000 which was a jump of more than 10% compared to the figure posted the previous year. A bulk of the visitors in the country were from Australia and they accounted for about 37% of the total arrival. It is expected that the number of visits to the country will further increase in the years to come.

Currency equivalent of 50,000 SBD or more must be declared on entry and exit from the country.
 
Citizens of countries in the Schengen Area are allowed entry into the Solomon Islands for up to 90 days within a 180-day period.
