Basic Travel Requirements for Rwandans visiting Austria
Travelers are required to fulfill the following requirements in order to apply for a Austrian Visa.
- Your visa application form must be correctly filled in English, signed and stamped.
- Your passport must be valid for at least 3 months after intended exit date from Austria. It must have 2 blank pages for visa and must not have been issued for more than 10 years ago.
- Two recent passport photographs that meet the Schengen visa application requirements.
- Minors are required to present their birth certificates and a letter of consent signed by both parents.
- The applicant is required to present a valid National ID or residence permit to prove residence in Rwanda.
- Travel insurance that covers medical emergencies up to a minimum of €30,000 is essential.
- Travel itinerary showing entry and exit dates from Austria.
- Proof of sponsorship which could either be recent bank statement or a letter from your host in Austria affirming full financial responsibility during your stay in Austria.
- Documentation showing status either as an employee, student or business owner. This is to prove that the applicant has incentives to return to Rwanda.
- Proof of accommodation. This could be hotel booking or an invitation letter from an host in Austria detailing purpose and duration of travel.
- You might be required to submit a cover letter mentioning every detail of your trip and that of travelling companions.
- All documents must be drawn up in or translated into English or German.
- The earliest you can apply is 3 months before you intend to travel. You should apply no later than 15 working days in advance.
- This visa costs €60 for Rwandans 12 years and above, €35 for children between 6-11 and is free for children under 6.
- The visa is has a validity of 90 days.
- You cannot enter or exit Austria with more than €10,000.

Austria Tourist Visa Eligibility & Requirements
- The travel visa is for applicants who visit Austria for purposes ranging from tourism, business, work and study for a short period of 3 months.
