Denmark Tourist Visa Eligibility & Requirements
- Rwandans who intend to visit Denmark for tourism, sightseeing, vacation or other leisure activities are eligible to apply for the tourist visa.
- The tourist visa also permits its holder to visit friends or relatives residing in Denmark.
- A visa application form must be fully completed and signed by the applicant before submission. Please note that incomplete visa application forms may delay the processing or cause an outright denial of visa.
- You are required to submit a passport-size photograph (35x45mm) clearly showing your face and taken with a white background. The passport photo must not be older than 6 months.
- Your Rwandan passport must be valid for at least three months after your planned departure from Denmark with at least 2 blank pages.
- You are required to submit an invitation letter from your host in Denmark. The invitation letter may be printed or you could submit an invitation ID if your host has submitted an online invitation. If printed, though, the letter must show your host's home address and telephone number.
- You should submit your visa application form in person as your biometric data will be taken at the point of submission.
- If you intend to attend social and cultural events or festivals in Denmark, the tourist visa permits that. However, you cannot work or enrol in a school with a tourist visa.
- You will also be required to provide proof of payment of the visa fee.
Denmark Business Visa Eligibility & Requirements
- The Danish business visa is a short-stay visa issued to foreign nationals who intend to travel to Denmark for business purposes.
- The business visa permits its holder to attend business meetings, summits, conferences and trade fairs in Denmark.
- You are required to attach a recent passport-size photograph to a fully completed and signed visa application form. The passport must be taken against a white background and adhere to other passport photo specification(s).
- Your passport must be issued within the last ten years and have a minimum validity of 6 months from the day you intend to leave Denmark. There must be at least 2 unused pages in your passport for entry and exit stamps.
- To apply for the Danish business visa, you need an invite from the partner company in Denmark. You should confirm if your host has prior approval from authorities to host foreign nationals because you wouldn't have to obtain any additional information from your host. This makes your visa processing as fast as possible. Please note that the prior approval arrangement can only be used if you submit your visa application at a Danish diplomatic mission.
- If your host does not have prior approval or you are not submitting at a Danish diplomatic mission, you need to obtain a letter of invitation from your host. This letter must state your full name, the purpose of your visit to Denmark, the contact details of your host and information about your accommodation plans while in Denmark.
- Your host may also use an online invitation provided by the Danish Immigration Service (VU1 invitation). You will need to obtain the invitation ID from your host once they have completed the online invitation. Your host may download the printable invitation form and forward it to you.
Denmark Student Visa Eligibility & Requirements
- Foreign nationals who have been offered admission to an educational institution in Denmark are eligible to apply for the student visa.
- The student visa is a long-stay visa that also requires its holder to obtain a residence permit as they will be living in Denmark for the duration of their study.

- You must also be able to speak and understand the language of instruction. Also, you must be able to understand either Danish, Swedish, Norwegian, English or German with a reasonable level of proficiency.
- You are required to have sufficient funds to be able to support yourself during your stay in Denmark and provide proof of this in the form of your bank account statements of the last 6 months.
- If you are to pay a tuition fee and you have already paid for the first semester, this is seen as documentation that you have sufficient funds and therefore do not need to provide additional documentation.
- To apply for the resident visa, you can fill an online application or download a printable application form and submit along with your visa application. You will have to pay the attached application fee.
- You must submit your application in person as your biometric data will be collected. Otherwise, your application will not be processed.
