Dominican Republic Tourist Visa Eligibility & Requirements
- Rwandans who intend to travel to the Dominican Republic for sightseeing, vacation, tourism and other leisure activities are eligible to apply for the tourist visa.
- The tourist visa also permits its holder to visit friends or relatives residing in the Dominican Republic.
- The Rwandan passport used for the visa application must have at least 2 blank pages and must be valid for at least 3 months from the Dominican Republic or longer.
- You are required to fully complete and sign the visa application form before submitting as incomplete application forms will not be processed.
- You are to send a cover letter applicant addressed to the Dominican Republic Consulate, stating your name, nationality, occupation and purpose of visit to the Dominican Republic.
- To show that you have the financial means to cater to all your needs while in the Dominican Republic, you are required to submit your bank account statements of the last 3 months.
- You are required to provide a copy of your roundtrip flight ticket or onward ticket to show that you intend to leave the Dominican Republic once your visa expires.
- You must also provide proof of your private or hotel accommodation for the entire duration of your stay in the Dominican Republic, with the name and contact details of your host (or hotel) clearly stated.
- A report from your local police stating that you have no criminal record is required. You should note that if you have a pending criminal case, your visa application may be denied.
- The tourist visa also permits you to attend social or cultural events or festivals in the Dominican Republic but does NOT permit you to accept payment for any services rendered while in the country.
- Minors need a letter of consent to travel to the Dominican Republic signed by their parents or guardians if they are travelling alone or with someone other than their parents/guardians. The letter must be notarized and translated into Spanish and both the original and translated copies must be authenticated.
Dominican Republic Business Visa Eligibility & Requirements
- The business visa is issued to foreign nationals who intend to travel to the Dominican Republic for business, professional or commercial purposes.
- The visa application form must be neatly completed and signed before submission. A passport-size photograph (2x2 inches) taken with a white background should be submitted with the visa application form.
- You are required to provide a letter of invitation from the partner company in the Dominican Republic stating the nature of your business in the country and how long you intend to stay.
- As proof of your employment, you are required to provide the original copy of your employment contract, signed by both you and your employer and copies of your recent payslips as well as a leave letter stating awareness of your travel and when you are expected to resume back to work.
- A criminal record certificate issued by the appropriate authority in your country of residence must be submitted. The record must be translated into Spanish, notarized and authenticated (both original and translated copies).
- A cover letter, addressed to the Dominican Republic Consulate, by you or your employer is required. The letter must state your name, nationality, place of residence and occupation as well as the purpose of your travel.
- Any proof of previous trade relations between your company and the partner company (such as bills of lading, customs clearance or such documents) should be presented.
- You should also provide proof of a hotel reservation for the entire duration of your stay in the country.
- Please note that this business visa does not permit you to take up paid employment while the Dominican Republic.
- You may apply for the multiple-entry business visa if you intend to enter the Dominican Republic more frequently. This visa is valid for 1 year and costs $125.
- You are required to provide proof of payment of the visa fee.
