Entry Requirements
- Rwandans can travel to the Democratic Republic of the Congo without obtaining a visa for a stay for up to 90 days.
- Rwandans are required to possess a passport with a validity of at least another 3 months from the date of arrival.
- Visitors are required to provide certificate of Vaccination for Yellow Fever, Typhoid, Hepatitis A, Polio and Tetanus.
- Visitors must have return or onward tickets and all documents such as bank statements and accommodation receipts are required for their next trip.
- Visitors are allowed free import of a moderate amount of perfume, One litre of alcoholic drinks, 200 grammes of tobacco, 50 cigars, or 300 cigarettes. There are no restrictions on gifts and personal objects up to the value of:
- USD 200 if travellers are staying abroad for up to 7 days
- USD 300 if travellers are staying abroad for 8 days up to six months
- USD 400 if travellers are staying abroad for six months up to two years
- USD 500 if travellers are staying abroad for two years or more- such amounts are estimated regardless of the age of travellers.
- Dry or fresh meat, unpreserved meat products and all kinds of plants and vegetables require previous permission from the Ministry of Agriculture.
- Visitors are allowed to depart with a moderate amount of cigarettes, tobacco and national alcoholic drinks.
- Goods such as narcotics, live animals and their parts, gold bars and antiques are prohibited from entry.
- To bring in pets, travellers must have a health certificate that is issued by an authorized governmental veterinarian and approved by the local health authorities in the home country. In addition, dogs require a certificate of vaccination against rabies issued within three months of arrival in Ecuador.
- A traveler's luggage should be cleared at the first airport of entry in Ecuador.
- Visitors arriving with more than two pieces of checked luggage have to pay high customs duties as follows:
- For the third bag: USD 200
- For the fourth bag: USD 400
- Starting from the fifth bag, all checked luggage will be revised and a customs tax has to be paid for the total content of all bags.
- Visitors departing on international flights are required to pay an Airport Departure Tax .
