Travelers are required to fulfill the following requirements in order to apply for a Eritrean Visa.
- A valid Rwandan passport with at least 6 months validity from the date you intend to leave Eritrea.
- A fully completed and signed visa application form.

Eritrea Tourist Visa Eligibility & Requirements
- The Eritrean tourist visa is issued to foreign nationals who intend to travel to Eritrea for leisure purposes.
- The tourist visa also allows its holder to visit friends or relatives residing in Eritrea.
- Your Rwandan passport used for visa application must have at least 2 blank pages and a minimum validity of 6 months beyond your departure date from Eritrea.
- You are required to submit a fully completed and signed visa application form as incomplete forms may delay the processing of your visa application or lead to outright refusal of visa.
- You must also submit 1 recent passport-size photograph with your fully completed visa application form.
- As proof that you intend to leave Eritrea once your visa expires, you are required to provide a copy of your return flight ticket to your country of origin or an onward ticket to another destination outside Eritrea.
- You are also required to provide original copies of your bank account statements of the last 3 months as proof that you can cater to all your financial needs for the entire duration of your stay in Eritrea.
- You should also provide proof of private or hotel reservation for your stay in Eritrea. Such proof must clearly state the name of your host and their contact details.
- An Eritrean tourist visa allows a maximum stay of up to 30 days.
- If you are travelling with a minor, you should provide the original copy of their birth certificate.

Eritrea Business Visa Eligibility & Requirements
- Rwandans who intend to travel to Eritrea for business purposes are eligible to apply for the business visa.
- You are required to provide a business letter from your employer, written on the company's letterhead and signed by an authorised officer in the company. The letter should clearly state your name, the purpose of your travel and how long you intend to spend in Eritrea.
- The business letter should also state that the company will take financial responsibility for your business trip.
- You must also provide a copy of your return flight ticket to your country of origin, showing entry and exit date and flight information.
- If you have a partner company in Eritrea, you should get a letter of invitation from them, showing the company's name and address as well as the purpose of your visit.
- You should provide proof of previous business dealings with the partner company in Eritrea if such exist. This could be in the form of bills of lading or payment receipts for delivered goods.
- You should also submit a leave letter from your employer. The letter must also state the date you are expected to resume back to work.
- The business visa allows its holder to attend business meetings, conferences, trade fairs and other related business activities. It also permits you to sign contracts with the partner company but does not permit you to get paid for services rendered while in Eritrea.
- You must provide a copy of your roundtrip flight ticket indicating the dates of entry and exit from Eritrea.
- Applicants are required to provide proof of payment of the visa fee before their application can be processed.
